Identity - Characteristics and interests that somebody recognises as belonging uniquely to them and makes up their individual personality for life.
Self Image - The opinion that you have of your own worth, attractiveness, or intelligence.
Self Esteem - Confidence in your own qualities as an individual person.
All of the above are linked.
If a person feels that their identity is being repressed, by not being able to or given the choice to do things that interest them, then this person may feel withdrawn or unable to express themselves. This will then in turn have an effect on their self image and self esteem.

Identity is a group of characteristics, data or information that belongs exactly to one person or a group of people and that make it possible to establish differences between them. The consciousness that people have about themselves is part of their identity as well as what makes them unique. According to psychologists, identity is a consistent definition of one’s self as a unique individual, in terms of role, attitudes, beliefs and aspirations. Identity tries to define who people are, what they are, where they go or what they want to be or to do. Identity could depend on self-knowledge, self-esteem, or the ability of individuals to achieve their goals. Through self-analysis people can define who they are and who the people around them
Identity is the set of behavioral or personal characteristics by which an individual is recognizable as a member of a group. Each people have their own personality, being different and unique from other people. Even though it’s different, each people have some similarity with others that connected them together as a community or a group. However, these groups is not open for all people, some people have to sacrifice their aspects of identity in order to belong to the group that they want to join.
Identity. What is identity? One will say that it is the distinct personality of an individual. Others will say that identity is the behavior of a person in response to their surrounding environment. At certain points of time, some people search for their identity in order to understand their existence in life. In regards, identity is shaped into an individual through the social trials of life that involve family and peers, the religious beliefs by the practice of certain faiths, and cultural awareness through family history and traditions. These are what shape the identity of an individual.

Identity is a state of mind in which someone recognizes/identifies their character traits that leads to finding out who they are and what they do and not that of someone else. In other words it's basically who you are and what you define yourself as being. The theme of identity is often expressed in books/novels or basically any other piece of literature so that the reader can intrigue themselves and relate to the characters and their emotions. It's useful in helping readers understand that a person's state of mind is full of arduous thoughts about who they are and what they want to be. It grows in response to both internal and external factors. Different type of identities developed during different environmental, circumstances, and time.
There are millions of words across the globe that are used to describe people and uncover their identity, but what is identity? How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn't one definition to define such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex.
The self-image survey was a questionnaire that asked respondents to state their current feelings on their personal self-image. This survey was based off of a simple two point scale. The number one represented yes, and number two represented no. The higher the individuals score on the questionnaire, the lower self-image someone has on themselves.
Self-esteem relates to a person’s social network, what they participate in and the feedback they get from others. Positive self-esteem affects a person’s mental and psychical health. Low self-esteem is linked to depression, health and social issues. People’s confidence can change with the environment they are in such as home or school.
Those with self-esteem issues lack the confidence to pursue ideas they have for goods and services and also are less likely to invest in things that could yield them a large financial gain. To increase your self-esteem, Alton says you should be confident in your appearance, recognize your strengths, surround yourself with supportive people, and give yourself a chance to be successful. Self-esteem is the appreciation or consideration that a person has for himself. The word expresses love and acceptance of one 's own body and is built from the earliest childhood under the affectionate gaze of parents who proudly look upon the development of psychic abilities and the physical growth of their children.
In psychology, self Esteem is a word to mirror a person's general assessment or appraisal of own worth. Self Esteem encompasses beliefs and emotions such as triumph, despair, pride and shame. 'The self-concept is what people think about the self, Self Esteem, and the positive or negative evaluation of the self. An individual’s self-concept involves of the viewpoints one has about oneself, one’s self-perception, or, as (Hamlyn, 1983), expresses it, "the picture of oneself". Baumeister, Smart and Boden (1997) described self-concept as totally perception which people hold about themselves. It is not the "facts" about one-self but rather what one believes to be true about one-self (Mercer, 2008). Self-esteem protects the individual from potentially debilitating emotions as they work to reestablish and maintain a match between standards and perceptions. Self-esteem is able to defense the individual from such negative consequences both directly and indirectly.
Self esteem is based on what kind of importance we give to ourselves, it is to think how valuable we are to the world and how valuable we think we are to others. Self-esteem takes part in our every life aspect either it`s trusting others, our relationships or in our working conditions. Positive self esteem gives us the confidence and reacting cool in the situation to see the flaws in our mistakes and stay on the right path with the fear of rejection.
