Give a Few Examples of Cell Organelles.

Answer – Some cell organelle examples include the nucleus, mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, and golgi apparatus, among others.

Explanation:

The cell, which is the most basic unit of every living organism, is composed of several smaller structures that keep it functional. These are known as organelles and are similar to the organs of the body. In fact, the word ‘organelle’ itself means ‘little organs.’

Organelles in the fully developed eukaryotic cells are bound by membranes and are found scattered in the cytoplasm. In the primitive prokaryotic cells though, they exist without membranes. But irrespective of the type of cell, each of these performs one or more distinct tasks that contribute to the cell’s functionality.

Some examples of organelles include:

1. The nucleus, which stores the genetic material DNA

2. Mitochondria, which produce energy in the form of ATP

3. Rough endoplasmic reticulum, which is responsible for protein synthesis

4. Smooth endoplasmic reticulum, which produces lipids and steroids

5. Golgi apparatus, which processes proteins produced by endoplasmic reticulum and exports them
