When silver nitrate reacts with sodium chloride then precipitate of silver chloride is formed.

The precipitation reaction is shown below:

NaCl(aq) + AgNO3(aq) AgCl(s) + NaNO3(aq)

The species which are present is shown below:

The ions which are present in initial mixture is Na+, Cl- and NO3-. When excess silver nitrate is added, the chloride ions precipitate in the form of silver chloride. The only species left after the precipitate remove i.e.  Na+, NO3and AgCl(s)
