Compare an inside sales force and an outside sales force?
The inside sales force are the internal salespeople who are also known as direct salespeople whose work involves communicating with the customers over phone, e-mail or the internet. Their work does not involve going out in the market and communicating face-to-face with the customers. Other ways in which inside sales can be understood is 'virtual sales' or 'remote sales'. They do not travel and work from their office environment only.
The outside sales forces comprises those sales people who are intended to be physically active in the market or field to come in contact with the customers and communicate with them. They work from outside of other offices. The working hours of the outside sales force is generally not specified. They conduct face-to-face meetings with customers and take counselling sessions with them to provide them information about a product and persuade them to purchase it.
