There are so many reasons why certain fallacies are perceived as hard and fast facts. Information on health is particularly riddled with fallacies masquerading as facts, some are deliberate while most are simply received (sometimes, just overheard) passed on and then embraced ‘hook line and sinker’ without much thought or the rigors of proper validation.
