Question

Cytokinesis in plant cells is different than cytokinesis in animal cells.
a)  Explain why it has to be different, and
b)  briefly describe the processes in the two different cell types.

Expert Solution
Step 1 INTRODUCTION

Cytokinesis is the division of the cytoplasm and is a subpart of a large process called cell division. Cell division is the complex process of equal separation of two cellular material in two regions which will later become two daughter cells. These two cells can be easily visualized under the microscope. It is assumed that the genetic material gets duplicated before the division and thus cell division can be called the division of duplicated macromolecular units.
