Psychopaths display a constellation of traits that render them a dangerous group of individuals. While psychopaths live among us, many can be found within the criminal justice system. In fact, many have a history of violent behavior in general, and sexual aggression in particular. Some research has suggested that psychopaths have difficulty distinguishing the emotions displayed in facial expressions and also attribute hostile intentions to innocuous situations. These patterns have been thought to contribute to the violence psychopaths display. In this study, the researcher presents a short video clip of a person describing a situation that is either innocuous or aggressive while displaying either a fearful or angry facial expression. Twenty psychopaths (n=20) are recruited to participate and are asked to identify their response by selecting it on the computer screen. Their response time (in seconds) is being measured in order to determine if psychopaths respond differently depending on the type of scene and the emotion being displayed. Test this hypothesis at an alpha at 0.05 and use all of the steps of hypothesis testing. Table 5. Psychopaths response reaction time (secs) to scenes being described with different emotions
