This was sent back.  It is a chemistry sig problem in freshman chemistry   Why is 1376 - (2.4x102)= to 1140 and Not 1136 when using sig figs. I thought subtraction went to the closest decimal.       1376 -      240       1136    Is there a different rule when using exponents.  The 4 was the last sig fig in that problem.  Should I really be looking at the last sig fig when adding and subtracting.  Thank you
