What is the coefficient of determination?
Let X be the independent variable and it is used to predict Y, thus Y can be the dependent variable. Then, the coefficient of determination, represented by R2 , is a measure which represents the amount of variance of the dependent variable that can be explained by the independent variable when a linear model is assumed.
