 What species is oxidized and what species is reduced in the electrolysis of a pure molten salt?

In the electrolysis of pure molten NaCl, Na+ and Cl- are the only species used in cell. The chloride already with 1- hence, cannot gets reduced further therefore, it must be oxidized. Similarly, sodium cannot  be oxidized further since it already has charge of +1 hence, it gets reduced only.
