Recrystallization is a process used to purify chemicals. In this, the compound to be purified is dissolved in a solvent and is allowed to slowly cool and form crystals. Hence. when the compound is to be purified along with the impurities being dissolved in an appropriate solvent, the desired product or the impurities can be removed from the solution thus leaving behind the other.
