In closed loop system, output can be controlled by providing feedback to the input.
So the output can be controlled accurately by providing feedback to the input.
Feedback control system
e.g 1) Automatic electric iron
Controller used is thermostat.
In Automatic electric iron system resisitive heating occurs. a sole plate of the iron instrument acts as plant.
When the temperature of the sole plate reaches predefined value, then the heating action stop automatically and when temperature goes below certain predefined value then heating starts automatically.
predefined maximum and minimum temperature acts as reference input signal.
Through feedback element, output temperature is compared with reference temperature and based on that error signal is generated.
Depending on error signal, thermostat operates and switching on/off of heating element is performed.
