a) NaHCO3.

The chemical name of this antacid is sodium bicarbonate. It is used to treat an upset stomach, indigestion and heartburn.

The neutralization reaction is as shown below.

NaHCO3+ HCl NaCl+ H2O+ CO2

Sodium bicarbonate is basic in nature, therefore it is able to counter the excess acid in the stomach. It reacts with HCl to form sodium chloride, water, and carbon dioxide.

b) The given antacid is Mg(OH)2
