The Next War is a poem by Wilfred Owen written during World War One, and The Charge of the Light Brigade is a poem written during the Crimean War based on a charge in which misinterpreted orders led to over 150 of 600 killed or wounded. The two poems hold different ideas, techniques and themes. The main themes presented in both poems revolve around the subject of death, common techniques such as personification and imagery are used to enhance our understanding of the war against Death.
