6-3: This process is used by cells to manufacture _biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products__
The main objective of this experiment is to differentiate between a physical change and a chemical change.
The results showed the molarity of the NaOH solution. This experiment was completed twice and a new average molarity
Day 1. Michael was coming home for vacation from college. When he got home he found out that
1. Place a small amount of wax from a birthday candle into a test tube. Heat gently over a burner flame until the wax melts completely; then allow
Benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (0.201g) and 9-anthraldehyde (0.116g) were weighed and added to a short-neck round-bottomed flask (5ml). Dichloromethane (2ml) was measured using a measuring cylinder and added to the
Introduction During this unit, we learned about 5 types of chemical reactions. They consist of Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Displacement, Double Displacement, and Combustion. A synthesis reaction or direct combination reaction is one of the most common types of chemical reactions. In a synthesis reaction, two or more chemical species combine to form a more complex product. A + B → AB.
Approximately 3.4 grams of K2HPO4 was weighed on a triple beam balance and dissolved in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask. Similarly, 2.4 grams of NaHPO4 was weighed on triple beam balance and dissolved in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask.
The purpose of this lab is to observe the changes in a chemical reaction and how factors affect the system like increase concentrations, temperature, pressure or common ions affect the outcome of the overall reaction and its equilibrium. The Le Chatelier's Principle is used often in order to determine the direction of a reaction, like a balance when disturbed it shifts to more over to one side than the other; in this case if one side of the reaction is stressed the other side will react to counteract for the change. This often means that more or less products will form or reactants will be more present in the end. The five stages performed in this lab with varying chemicals each with stressed the system in various ways. The first reaction is
One milliliter of 6.00-M phosphoric acid was placed into a 125-mL Erlenmeyer flask using a volumetric pipette. Using a slightly larger pipette, six milliliters of 3.00-M sodium hydroxide was transferred into a 50-mL beaker. Then a disposable pipette was used to slowly mix the sodium hydroxide into the phosphoric acid while the solution was swirled around. Then both the beaker and flask were rinsed with 2-mL of deionized water and set aside. A clean and dry evaporating dish was weighed with watch glass on a scale. Then the solution was poured into the dish and the watch glass was placed on top. The solution was then heated with a Bunsen burner to allow for the water to boil off to reveal a dry white solid. After the dish cooled to room temperature it was once again weighed and the new mass was recorded.
Sodium Hydroxide Solution (8mol L^(-1) initially but after changing my method and some chemicals I diluted it to 1mol 〖dm〗^(-3) but then ran out so repeated the dilution of 8mol 〖dm〗^(-3)NaOH again to make another 250〖cm〗^3)
2. Determine the concentration of unknown 1 and unknown 2 based on the standard curve.
Kanamycin solution: 50mg/ml Kanamycin powder should be dissolved in water (deionised) before being filtered through a 0.2micrometer filter and aliquots of 1ml should be produced.
A DCIP solution used for titrations was standardized using 0.500 g/L solution of ascorbic acid. The same DCIP solution was used for all trials both for the control and the experimental treatment. The DCIP solution used had an average
