My client Henry and the 38th street gang is innocent. There is not sufficient evidence or any evidence at all that ties my clients to the murder of Jose Williams. My clients are being treated unfairly and receiving unequal treatment from the court system. The evidence presented before you ties the Downey gang to the murder of Mr. Williams. My clients were at the wrong place and the wrong time and as a result are being thrown these false accusations. I highly request that the judge's ruling from the original case should be overturned. When asking ourselves what the best way to combat injustice, we need to think about how prejudice is known to be a negative behavior towards someone else which then lead to discrimination. If we have people learn
CHICAGO, Feb, 14, ---- Seven members of the notorious North Side gang led by George “Bugs” Morgan were shot dead today. The tragic event happened in a garage at 2122 N. Clark Street. The men were said to have been waiting for a “bootlegging” shipment of whiskey at Moran’s headquarters. Seems that Moran was running late to the meeting, when he arrived he saw a squad car of police men entering the building and decided to wait outside assuming that his men were inside being arrested. He took refuge in a nearby building but quickly realized that something was not right. All of the people surrounding Moran’s headquarters began to hear a rainfall of bullets and the cries of the men inside being shot.
"This is a man who has not only redeemed himself, but he has sent his message of redemption and nonviolence to the people of California and all over the country."
How would you feel if your race represented a sigma- one of such that is viewed negatively upon-causing government officials to provide the bare minimum of resources for you to function just below the poverty threshold? Chicago, the 3rd largest populated city in the U.S followed by it having the 3rd largest black population in the U.S according to the 2010 U.S census report is a city that raises many questions. The murder rate in Chicago has inclined rapidly over the past 10 years “A total of 510 Chicagoans were murdered in 2008, compared to 445 in 2007” according to The University of Chicago Crime
How has the Crips Street Gang evolved since the 1960’s? Gone are the days when battles were over community control, when loyalty meant self- determination, not self destruction. In the 1980’s crack cocaine became a major source of income for many African – American gang members in Los Angeles. Gangs were faced with intra-conflict old codes of conducts versus laissez-faire attitudes of the younger gang members. Gang violence increased as many capitalized on this new market the distribution of crack cocaine. Neighborhoods in gang infested Los Angeles areas were not immune to the violence of gangs.
Chicago is the posse capital of the United States. As indicated by the Chicago Crime Commission, a 2012 Chicago Police Department posse review found there are more than 600 gang groups in the city, with a base joined membership of 70,000. As the quantity of gang in the city build, it's troublesome for groups to control large zones. Rather, groups stick to avenues. Domain debate mean expanded contention and subsequently, more
On May 17th, 1912 the city of Chandler was founded in the heat of the Arizona desert. This Phoenix suburban town is home to approximately 250,000 citizens. Unfortunately, youth street gangs have been recently developing and causing a spike in criminal activity in this once safe community. Gang related violence and criminal activity drastically impacts the security of Chandler’s businesses and community members. Our community has been the victim of drive-by shootings, vehicle thefts, drugs, homicides, and other gang related criminal activity. The city of Chandler has had enough of criminal activity happening in our community. It is absolutely essential that a gang reform program is implemented in order to prevent and break this violent gang cycle. Community members, business owners, and school officials are aware of the elevated gang related criminal activity and as the head of the new gang reform program, I hope to implement new strategic programs. The gang reform program will be a three-tiered program consisting of evidence-based prevention strategies, early interventions programs, and necessary follow-up methods. It is estimated that this gang reform program will cost nearly one million dollars for implementation and startup of the gang reform program for 2016.
The Blood gang seems to be dominate in in the United States. Bloods where red as their primary identifying color. The Bloods established themselves in Los Angeles, California around the West Piru Street area in the Compton section of Los Angeles. Sylvester Scott and Vincent Owens were the founders of the Bloods, and this certain gang actually started out as the "Compton Pirus." The rapid growth of the Bloods was abetted by a severe conflict between the "Compton Crips" and the "Compton Pirus," in which the Pirus were greatly outnumbered and brutally crushed. This fighting brought several sets of the Pirus together, and the Pirus subsequently joined forces with the "Laurdes Park Hustlers" and the "LA Brims." In fact, the Brims were quite eager unite forces against the Crips, who had recently murdered one of their gang members. Various other gangs around the area who had been attacked or threatened in the past by the Crips were also eager to unite the forces against them, and these gangs were united under the Blood name. "Red" gangs in the Compton refer to themselves as "Pirus,” and several other "red" gangs in the area such as the "Brims," "Bounty Hunters," "Swans," and the "Family" are known as the "Bloods." Those associated with the Bloods are fairly well recognized

For decades there have been an abundance amount of gang activity going on around the world and it continues to grow. Every year there is an increasing amount of teenagers over 600,000 that are rushed to the emergency rooms and taken into hospital care due to gang related injuries (Forster, Grigsby, Unger & Sussman, 2015). Most of these children are very young and have not even enter high school, and others have not even completed middle school. Many of the teens that have been rushed to the hospital have also been involved in some sort of a serious violent gang related activity themselves, and by the age of 17, they would have already been in a physical fight, or would have already been initiated into a gang. In most cases when being initiated into a gang the member awaiting to be apart of a gang must commit some sort of crime, such as theft of a vehicle, or robbery.
This picture is amazing eye catching picture because of the contrast of the grey background and bright center. Josh had the brightest coat while everyone else was wearing light or dark contrast colors. The fire hydrant has another eye catcher because two feet are resting on the side.
Will it help on a macro level? Not without other measures being put in place. The gang problem in Chicago must be addressed in a proactive way. Nykea Aldridge's murder is the symptom of a larger illness that must be treated in the community. Restorative justice for two offenders won't be enough.
William Easterly stated,“poor people die not only because of the world’s indifference to their poverty, but also because of ineffective efforts by those who do care.” As developing nations become sophisticated in demeanor, it is expected that crime rates would decrease in return. However, a plethora of evidence exemplifies a correlation between corruption in the government and rapid economic growth. Gang-related violence has increased as developing countries improve economically and become an established nation. Thus, the paradigm of gang violence and crime has continued to grow as innocent lives are sacrificed to corruption and power. To minimize the threat of organized gang crime among developing nations, governmental agencies must increase law enforcement and reduce internal corruption.
