With the technology that is available for everyone to use today the priorities of what needs to be taught in the classroom has changed. Information is readily available for everyone to utilize at anytime. Students nowadays can ask Siri or Google about anything they want to know. Because of this, what students should be taught and the way that this teaching should be conducted should change. Students today need to be taught to critically think about things and be able to collaborate with others. Now that technology is at almost every student 's fingertips there is less of a need to simply memorize things. Flipped classroom are the change that education is looking for. It will allow students to focus more on active learning

Having knowledge at their fingertips is something that the current students are used to. Should not teachers utilize this information and skills and implement it into the classroom?
Right now there are many issues that education is facing. One of them is the fact that students today need to be taught to critically think about thing and be able to collaborate with others. The flipped classroom can help with that.“The flipped classroom is often linked to problem solving, inquiry learning, and active learning plus interpersonal communications” (Logan). This active learning style is what educators should be focusing on teaching in their classrooms because now that technology is at almost every student 's fingertips there is less of a need to simply memorize things and a greater need for students to have the skills needed to function and work well when they are older and looking for a job.
In a flipped classroom “students are expected to prepare themselves outside of class using web-delivered materials. During class, the teacher does not spend much time on basic information transfer (as this is to be done outside of class). Instead, the students are expected to apply and expand their knowledge of the subject by solving problems, interacting with classmates, working on projects, or sharing artifacts of their learning” (Crews). This active learning way of teaching has both positive and negative effects.

It is no surprise that technology can make information much more accessible. For instance, the simple act of researching the formula for the area of a triangle can be simplified to a search on the Internet. As such, students are able to use sites like YouTube, Wikipedia, Quizlet to gain varyingly different points of view about the subject they are studying. They are also able to return to any point in a video lesson presentation and review it over and over until they either memorize the details or grasp the concepts that it contains or both. In contrast, the traditional brick and mortar school does not allow for such meaningful repetition. If a student does not immediately understand the concept being presented, they are left to either read from their confusing, often unintelligible textbook or to seek out a fellow student for assistance. Even then, these students still might not be able to understand the concepts

My reaction to the concept of flip classrooms left me beleiving that it is an effective learning technique, for not only the students, but the teachers as well. A flip classroom is a technique that is used in the classroom, by utilizing the homework in class, as well as watching online lectures at home. There are numerous ways students can learn online concerning the content, the engagement and interaction, and the personalization. Flipped learning is one model of e-learning in which students view lectures and videos at home to learn the content, then in the classroom the students complete exercises, project and discussions to demonstrate their knowledge. The benefits of a flipped classroom are to adapt to vastly changing workforces, close the achievement gap through utilizing resources, and differentiating learning. However, in order for flipped learning to be successful as found in research completed by Abramson (2014), there is a large need for the student to invest time and motivation into their learning. With the vastly changing workforce, the way people work and live has been transformed. Therefore, schools need to change so student can live and succeed in a multitasking and technology driven world (Tucker, 2014).
The education system around the world has progressed and changed in a plentiful amount of ways, and the concept of knowledge and learning has changed in modern day. For example, certain schools around the globe are moving on to implementing technology in classrooms because it provides many benefits and statistical research that states how students are improving their academic readiness because of the instant access to information, a greater engagement and interactive process in learning, and the personalization that instructors can do towards the educational experience that students receive. The benefits of technology in class can be rather debatable, for there are people who think it's a distraction, but it certainly seems to be beneficial according to the increase of passing percentages in schools.
