To: Jeffery Waple, Vice Chancelor for Student Affairs
From: Anonymous group of concerned students This letter is anonymous to remove any bias from whatever decision may be made final with what to do with the information discussed in this letter. Also, to protect the interest of my fellow students as coworkers and the management of Cougar Lanes for which I and the group of students with which I associate have come to enjoy the atmosphere they provide and whose involvement in this was unknown to them. I was chosen by my group of friends to write this perhaps because I may be the most outspoken on the subject, but keep in mind that I speak for more than just myself, but for all the other students that patronize the recreation center on

Next, I immediately consulted everyone in the rec center that night even the students who were not in my immediate group of friends. Although the sample size of the survey taken that evening was small compared to the entire student body between my group and all other patrons we are well represented and a carbon copy of the diverse student body of the school, ranging from black, white, Asian, Indian, Mexican, male and female students alike. I happen to feel the clientele on a daily basis and trust me when I say daily because I am there daily, exceeds the diversity goal that all universities seek to accomplish. Currently time is not on my side the semester is nearly over and setting up a table in the quad to collect signatures on a petition to save the rec center would not be affective but if that’s what it takes then myself and all regular patrons of Cougar Lanes will do so. My agenda appropriately similar to that of the 16th President of the United States Abraham Lincoln’s during the Civil War which was to restore the Union as it once was by any means possible. Mine is to protect our equivalent of a union being the Morris University Center and in doing so insuring the eternal existence of the under estimated role Cougar Lanes plays in holding that union together. This letter is intended to be an informative one as well as productive. Through my own
I have created this letter to you in necessity for myself. This letter will hopefully bring a close to a chapter of my life that was in immense need of ending. Also, this letter will hopefully allow you to create a more positive view of myself, as I believe you have never seen me in a good light.
As a student affairs practitioner I believe I am a cornerstone of the higher education experience. I have made it my mission to help students be the best version of themselves for the benefit of not only them, but of society at large. I work to help create not only educated students, but also engaged members of a global society.
I am excited to be one of the candidates for the 2017-2018 National Junior Honor Society. I understand that the National Junior Honor Society is for students who demonstrate exemplary scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and character. I believe that I have maintained a grade point average of 3.55 or higher and have shown all of the five given standards of the National Junior Honor Society. I believe that my involvement with the National Junior Honor Society will help me to prepare my future as a leader, character role model, and good citizen.
Thank you for your consideration of me as a candidate for the National Honor Society, it means a tremendous deal to me. I have worked extremely hard to earn my chance to become a member of the National Honor Society and this application resembles a small prize on the enduring path to success for me. I believe, as a member of the National Honor Society, I will be able to enhance my spirit of service and accomplish more service goals and projects. Although, I already have many leadership skills under my belt, I can only imagine the many more skills I will gain from being a member of the National Honor Society. I believe you can never stop learning.
I am seeking membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated because I want to grow and contribute my time and talent to an illustrious, originating organization. I aspire to be a part of a sisterhood where I can express myself, and have my skills nourished by prospering African –American women. This summer I was involved in a traumatic car accident and survived, tragically two of my dearest friends did not. On the car third spin I squeezed my eyes shut, and braced myself for a collision. Suddenly, the car jolted forward and flipped. At that very moment I realized that I am here for a greater purpose, and vowed to take the necessary steps to fulfill that purpose. God is not finished with me yet, and I do not want to sit on my Lord.
Overall, I am a devoted and well-rounded student, making me a perfect candidate for National Honor Society. Not only do I posses the four tenets, character, scholarship, leadership and service, but I am also constantly working harder and striving to be better in all four regions. National Honor Society will help me reach my goal in becoming a better student and person. In addition, being a member of National Honor Society will allow me to be an example for other students, just like the members had been for me. In conclusion, I should be a member of National Honor Society because I demonstrate excellence in all four tenets of National Honor Society.
Collectively, recreation centers or gyms have had an impact upon several collective lives, effecting our sociological imagination. As an example, a whole new
I remember last year after receiving the letter from NHS that I had not been accepted into National Honors Society, as dreadful as it was to receive that bad news I learned many things that emphasize and describe my character. I noticed how throughout Freshman and part of Sophomore year of High School I was just a student who focused heavily on school work rather that combining school work with a social and meaningful life. After realizing my past I had to act on that and change the way I once was, I recognized how much I lacked in leadership and service within the community. After completing my twelve year studies at my local Sunday School I decided to help the school out by assisting the office and teachers by completing the tremendous amount
And just saying guys, college loves when students get in all these activities, this means that kids really pride in something that they love so much. But, if you take this away from them, then they won’t get into the college that they want to. Kids need to do sports to be healthy, have fun, and follow their dreams. Don’t say I am wrong because I know the pros and cons of playing a sport. Yes, sports are easy and hard, you can get hurt while playing it, but if you love it and dedicate for yourself and others then you should do it. No mayor and school board should take this away from you and others. They want us to have a good education than to do something we love to do. They want us to worry more about school work then to worry about what we have to do outside of school. Kids need the sports to know that they have a talent in something and know that it's something that they love to do. Kids need education in sport right? Yes, yes they do. Kids should be able to go to a college for any activity that they are interested with and know that they love. In conclusion, no mayor or school board should take away a sport knowing that is what you want to do in life and
I am writing in response to the letter that I have received to apply for the National Honor Society, and I am interested in becoming a member. NHS was first brought to my attention my freshman year, through peers and some teachers who would talk about all of the good outcomes and opportunities that can come about from being a member. From that point on, that has been my goal. I have worked as hard as I could to get up to where I am today.
I am writing to inform you that I am resigning form the position of Vice President of the Middle School Student Council. I will not be attending Crescent Middle School next semester. However, I am staying within the Crescent community. If the Student Council needs help or support, I will be able to assist.
I am extremely excited to be given an invitation to the National Junior Honor Society. My understanding of how important this will be for me vastly grew after I found out the basic tenets of this organization. I believe this group is going to aid me multiple ways through the opportunities given to improve many levels of my every day life. Hopefully you will accept me into your
SPPV (1949) focuses on the education of a student being the responsibility of the student but responsibilities of student affairs professionals in coming to the forefront of the education process (Carpenter, 2011). SPPV (1937) focus on the student as a whole person including physical condition, relationships, vocational skills, emotional stability, and moral and religious values (ACE, 1937). However, SPPV (1949) was written shortly after the end of World War II and the authors seemed to focus more on democracy and the change in student population at the university level (ACE, 1949). After World War II many of the returning veterans took advantage of the GI Bill and now student affairs professionals were dealing with a more
Abstract: The Stadium construction boom continues, and taxpayers are being forced to pay for new high tech stadiums they don’t want. These new stadiums create only part-time jobs. Stadiums bring money in exclusively for professional leagues and not the communities. The teams are turning public money into private profit. Professional leagues are becoming extremely wealthy at the taxpayers expense. The publicly-funded stadium obsession must be put to a stop before athletes and coaches become even greedier. New stadiums being built hurt public schools, and send a message to children that leisure activities are more important than basic education. Public money
In todays society teens are often associated with drinking, doing drugs, and causing trouble. If a recreation center was built what would be stopping teens from bringing drugs and alcohol there? They may even be getting more teens to participate in such wreckless behavior. In the past year about 70.6% of teens have consumed alcohol and thats just highschool seniors. Also, in order to even have a recreational center you would first need an advisory committee and later a board of directors. For you to have these you would need to get voulenteers from the community to take part in these groups, which community members may not want to partake in or support. To even consider having a recreational center you would first have to see what people in the
