In the Gospels, the Great Commission was given by the resurrected Jesus Christ to his eleven disciples for His church. God’s Son said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). Now, the present-day church has the responsibility of carrying out this Great Commission as the disciples of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. My Philosophy of Ministry deals with achieving the Great Commission in the church. But the question is if Almighty God has called me to evangelical ministry, then how do I perform the Great Commission in a local church? My Philosophy of Ministry has to give the Biblical-based action plan necessary to fulfil the Great Commission. A Philosophy of Ministry should be composed of all churches. It guides the pastor and the people in the day-to-day affairs of Christ’s church. This Philosophy of Ministry provides the doctrinal and theological source for achieving the Great Commission in the church. Based on the idea of church planting, the name of the church will be the Reformed Baptist Church of Pittsburgh (RBCP). My Philosophy of Ministry commences with my personal call into pastoral ministry, including my theological education for preparation for pastoral ministry.
