A Summary Of Zachariah's Program

Background: Jayson was living on his own because his mom died. Now he has to go to a new school and he hates it. Zoe is really nice and her mom wants her to be perfect, but Zoe doesn’t like that.

I set up an interview with his parents to discuss his progress and find out some information about David. A translator will be needed due to his parents not speaking English. I’ve asked the parents how David’s behavior is at home and how his attitude is towards his school work. I also asked his parents how he reacts when asked about his classmates and school in general. Is he excited to go to school? Does he like learning? Does he have any friends he talks to? After this, I discussed how David is in class including his behavior. He tries to participate sometimes in school and just sits quietly at times. I have noticed him trying to work harder and understand certain material. He will try to reply when spoken to in his best ability. When he is in a group whether it’s playing or working on a project he will attempt to converse with the others.

His end of the year report card illustrated him to be extremely gifted in every subject, completing accomplishments far beyond his cognitive level. Additionally, is vocabulary skills as well as his ability to formulate sentences has improved. Branson Reeve developed a massive amount of responsibility towards the beginning of his 3rd grade year. He is completing his chores and homework independently, without having to be told to. At school, he is continuing to show advancements in all areas of study. Recently, he started attending an after-school science camp, which he is very fond of. Because of his infatuation, his father and I are intent on searching for additional extra-curricular science activities. Thankfully, his phase of cheating has finally halted. He became more open to talking and was more interested in the purpose of the project which also helped to answer a lot of questions he wanted to ask. While mentoring him, and researching the topic for my adolescent research project he become interested and helped me to gather some of the data that I used in my project. I was also able to help him with his science homework. I believe that this case study was a benefit to him because he could open to someone which was something that he had a hard time doing before. As the visiting progressed he could go out and talk to the other children and eventually he became comfortable enough to go out and join the basketball teams. There once was a young man named Zachariah Kellerhoff. A rather skinny, small, and weak young man that has never been athletic or paid attention to. Always in the dark or in the corner with no friends and avoided by almost everyone, except for his mother. His mother cared for him in all ways.

Zacharia Najoan (Zach) is a 51 year old man who was born in a small city in Bali name Badung, Indonesia. He lived in 3 different cities in his life. He grew up in a big metropolitan town, capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. Jakarta is a very money orientated city where you can get away with any criminal by the power of money. With that in mind, Zach had to work hard getting to being a boss in his local bank branch. But as soon as it hits liquidation, he then lost the point to losing his job and had to take on another alternative to support his family. He decided to take a step into having to live overseas not just for the sake of starting over but also for the sake of his children. He grew not being religious but as soon as he got married he turned to catholic, to keep note Indonesia is a Muslim country, and does not hold strong values to the religion but strong enough to believe about how God has impacted his life, and he took this turn into moving to New Zealand as an opportunity from his belief. How his culture and story of his background reflect back on how he approached New Zealand and it’s culture, it is applicable to be looked upon, in different stages part of his life, by four theories : Immigration, attributions, othering and ethnorelativism.
