Imagine that there was a full class supposed to be listening and taking notes on presentations, but the majority of them are looking down in their desks not listening, and texting friends. If you were presenting how would you feel? First of all its rude, second it could make the presenter sad to know that know that no one was listening to their presentation. Some people think that cell phones should be allowed in classrooms because they can help the students work harder because they are having more technology. I think that students should be banned at school because students can cheat on test, students could have too much screen time, and students might get distracted in class. First off, one reason cell phones should be banned from school is because students can cheat on tests. When students have a cell phone next to them they can get tempted to get on the internet during a test. For example, in the article Do Cell Phones Belong in Classrooms? The article says “An April 2010 study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project and the University of Michigan found that in schools that permitted students to have cell phones, 71 percent of students sent or received text messages on their cell phones in class. In the majority of schools those that allow students to have phones in school but not use them in the classrooms - the percentage was almost as high: 65%. Even in schools that ban cell phones entirely, the percentage
Do you think cellphone should be allow in school. I think cellphones should be allow in school because it will benefit to the student. The cellphone are the tool that help student translate ,researhing information, and understand difficult words.
Some can argue that cell phone use during school is highly uncivilized but it's extremely useful in many different ways and in different scenarios.Instead of viewing cellphones and other gadgets as negative additive distractions , we should view the positive side of celluar devices. Cell phones can help resolve issues and help make the school environment much easier, however do believe there should be restrictions , for instance not to use a phone while the teacher is having a discussion or teaching lesson. If a student can obey these rules and not use it in a disrespectful manner , then there should not be any issues. Cellular phones should be allowed in schools for threatening emergencies, to avoid double standards between teachers and students and most of all to help students with research purposes.
Cell phones are distracting in school and disrupt learning. Students should always be giving their teacher their undivided attention. Cell phones in school create problems and they affect students’ grades. Although some may claim these reasons to be true, they are undeniably wrong. The proponents of cell phones should not be allowed in school argue, “We know for a fact that the use of cell phones on school property around the country has led to a number of problems around safety.” This is wrong because cell phone use on school grounds is only beneficial to individuals on and off school property. Cell phones do not necessarily prevent problems, but they do help in times of emergencies. They promote safety in situations such as school shootings or hostage situations. The proponents of cell phones should not be allowed in school also argue “Student’s whose minds wander during a lecture or discussion may find the temptation of texting instead of listening hard to resist.” While this is true, it is up to the student to pay attention. However, texting instead of listening is the same as doodling and not listening, or playing on a school issued laptop even after being told to put it away. It is up to the student to restrain from texting in class. The more schools put an emphasis on no phones in school the more
I think phones should be allowed in school. My first reason for having this opinion is because they sometimes need to contact their parents. The second reason is because the phone has many uses. The third reason for my opinion is that students often need to contact the teachers as well.
Hmm, phones in the classroom! What do you think? That is a debate between billions of people in the world today. Children all over the world have phones, but they can not have them out during school hours. Cell phones are important to so many kids and adults. These devices have been around for so long, and many people can not live without them. All around the school campus, students are miserable without their phones. In the world today, about three-fourths of the U.S. population have phones. A cell phone is an important thing to some people. Without cell phones, kids wouldn't have access to their social media accounts like Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. So take this into consideration, even if it is in one class, students should be allowed to get on their cell phones during school hours.
These are just a few of the reasons cell phones should not be banned in schools. Indeed, there are downfalls to a cell phones, but they're also good and very useful during school. Like for example in case of emergency, parent wants to check up on their kid, helpful with school work, and lastly electronics are more fun for kids including their own device. If you can't use you cell phone in your school talk to your principal or teachers and state why they should change their mind and maybe you'll change their
should allow them. The main concern for the schools is that cell phones can distract students from learning and that they can be utilized to cheat on exams, with both of the these reasons leading to some schools banning cell phones entirely. However, because of the educational benefits of cell phones, they should not be banned, and the reasons are because students can use them to contact their parents, they have a lot of applications that are designed solely for schools, teachers already do enough to restrict cell phone use, and they encourage responsible use of technology.
Having cellphone in school is a controversial topic .Cell phones should be aloud at school for emergency and education purposes . One reason why cell phones should not be in allowed in school is because kids cheat with their cell phones. 35% of teens admit to using cell phones to cheat while in school. Also some kids that use their cell phones in school to cheat don’t admit to it. More than half the kids admit to cheating. But cell phone now and days are a real game changer for education. Parents need to be notice about this because if the kids parents were right next to them during school I bet they wouldn’t cheat. Kids always find a way to cheat but tool now and days are a big
One reason why students should be allowed to use cell phones is in class is they can listen to music to help them concentrate better. For example, in the article ‘Do Cell Phones Belong in the Classroom’ it states “Many teachers have given in and allowed their students to listen to music through their earbuds while they're doing individual class work (reading or writing or conducting research). "I concentrate better on my schoolwork when I'm listening to music," is the rationalization from many students.” (Earl.) in other words this shows that many students agree that being able to listen to music while working helps them concentrate and would cause less disruption or socialization.
Do you think cell phones should be allowed during school hours? Some people think that phones should not be allowed in school. They do not realize that cell phones are important. Although, some people take the opportunity to use cell phones in school for granted. Students should be allowed to use cell phones during school hours.
Who doesn't have a cell phone these days? It is so much more than just calling and texting. They are so great for personal use and educational use . Today most people have the top of line phones to use like iPhone and Androids . If we are not allowed to use our phones, than they just go to waste. I think that students should be able in school to use them for educational purposes . Cell phones are great for staying in contact with people but also for school related purposes. So they are, great in that respect.
Should cellphones be allowed in school ? With the increasing use of electronic technology most every student has a cellphone. some feel that cellphones are useful in the classroom. Others feel that cellphones use is not useful in the classroom. After much thought and research it is my opinion that cellphones should be allowed in school.
Many places in society are setting policies on digital device. The principal at my school has also set policies on banning cell phones in school. Students should not be permitted to use cell phones in school. Using cell phones during school allows students to cheat. Students will be more distracted by cell phones and pay less attention to the teacher and to the lesson. Students have a higher chance of getting in trouble if they use cell phones in school rather than if they are not allowed to use digital devices in school.
First of all, using cell phones in school is distracting, to the user and to other people around him or her. One way phones can be a disturbance is because the user can text and communicate with their friends. Also, they can play games or look through social media applications and websites that they have on their phones instead of doing what they are supposed to be doing. Based on a study in 2016, 675 students in 26 states say that they use about 20% of their classroom time using electronics for activities that are unrelated to the class (Reed, “Digital distraction in class is on the rise”). Imagine if the study was done in all 50 states, the number would be multiplied by two. The amount of interruption cell phones cause during class time annoys other students and also the teacher.
