The website addresses several topics of information regarding Amber Alerts. The goal of this alert system is to provide the surrounding communities with information that can assist in the safe finding and return of a missing child. The site is helpful as it gives the criteria that is required for an Amber Alert to be activated. The website includes information regarding child safety tips to prevent abductions, rules for safety and parent recording keeping. It provides helpful links, similar to that of Amber Alert, that may assist parents in finding their missing child. As covered in lecture, the e-text also stressed the importance of law enforcement operating with up-to-date with the technology. The e-text also discussed law enforcement at a state level. The North Dakota Public Alerts is a state agency as it serves to protect and aid the entire state of North Dakota, not just a specific jurisdiction of the state. I enjoyed exploring the North Dakota Public Alerts website. I learned more about both the Amber Alert and Blue Alert. It provides useful information on how to contact help, how to keep children safe, and the history of Amber Alerts. I also learned about Blue Alerts. In an attempt to acquaint readers with the Indiana Amber Alert System’s technology, this report will review its source, users, funding and relationship with the Emergency Alert System, sometimes called the Emergency Broadcast System. History and criteria of the system will be examined, as well as collaboration, sharing and program funding. Local information will be discussed from the perspective of an area law enforcement officer. Statewide information will be touched upon from the perspective of the director of the Indiana Amber Alert Clearinghouse in Indianapolis.

Now days states are mandated by the Federal government to put the sex offender registry online so that anyone web access can stay notified.
The use of crime bulletins and other type of news divestment is very crucial, especially if a crime has been committed. The sooner the news of a crime or wanted person(s) gets out, the greater the possibilities of bringing the case to a close, or to solving the crime. It is also very important that the police departments communicate with other agencies to share information about specific crimes, modes operandi, or any other important information that may be crucial in developing leads to solve a case or even find missing persons.
The article critique assignment focused on an article written by Mark Fazzini, head of the College of DuPage Police Department in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. His article “The Importance of NIMS to Campus Emergency Response” was printed in a September 2009 FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin and was given to us as a class as the assigned article to critique. The National Response Framework (NRF) is a great example of a national community reference.
