I chose the NutriGrain commercial. In this advertisement, a business woman is presented two options to eat. She can either choose a NutriGrain bar, or a doughnut. The screen then splits vertically in two to compare how her day progressed based on what she decided to eat at the beginning at the commercial. On the left side of the screen, the woman chooses to eat the doughnut. On the right, she eats the NutriGrain bar. As the woman’s day progresses, the split screen serves to show the woman who ate the NutriGrain bar makes healthier choices than the version of her who ate the doughnut. As the commercial continues, a woman is voicing over the commercial, saying “one good decision, can lead to another”. At the end of the commercial, the viewer is reminded of the ingredients in the bar that make it healthy and that eating a NutriGrain bar can “make you feel better all day”.

The non-profit organization that I chose for the semester project is Feeding America, a non-profit organization that consists of a network of food banks assisting food insecure people throughout the nation. What does a food insecure family look like in the United States? It is parents going without food in order to feed their children, it is families rationing food and skipping meals.

Do you want the animals you eat feed antibiotics and the food is not fresh or do you want food that is fresh and the animals are feed right?Ranchers and farmers have been feeding antibiotics to the animals we eat. Ever since they discovered decades ago and has been found as a health risk to humans but there is a food chain that can help America. The local sustainable food chain is the best food source to feed America.

Hunger is a big social issue facing America today. According to (“Do Something.com”) 1 out of 6 people face hunger in the US. Also 49 Million Americans Struggle to put food on the table. America is the best country in world, we shouldn’t have so many people hungry. Many people have thought of fixing this problem but one company has found a way to help fix this problem, this company is Feeding America. They have been giving people food since 1979. They’ve helped out 46 million Americans. ( feedingamerica.org )

It’s not union. Unlike the union labors which are groups of workers and employees who bond together to be placed in good working condition including good paying wages and fair working hours.

The name of the union is Unifor. It was created as a result of a merger between CAW (Canadian Auto Workers) and CEP (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers). (Unifor website)

Sixty four countries around the world have banned the use of GMOs, otherwise known as Genetically Modified Organisms, within farms and supermarkets. However, the United States, a usually technologically advanced country, has yet to invest much time or effort into this endeavour, one that would make food healthier for people and protect the environment. The US government has taken a step back in this effort for healthier food options, as in the country, companies that use GMOs are not required to label their food as such. Some companies and businesses, however, are working to make a change in the case for GMOs in the US, by advocating minimized GMO usage, menu transparency, or the complete ban of the usage.

Foodways, illness, and healthcare are all basic things that humans need to survive. How it is given varies depending on the societies one looks at.

Milk dude had brought him to his hideout at the abandoned milk factory. Banana Man thanked Milk dude and did something that would “change” his life. He asked Milk Dude to become his side kick! Together, they will destroy Honey Booboo and her stupid show once and for all, for the sake of the universe! The two of them whooshed off to Honey Booboo’s evil fortress at the cheese store. To get to honey booboo, they will have to pass the five layers of dip, the six cans of the spray cheese, the seven guardians of the Swiss, and the snack food of the cheese curl!!! The duo began their long journey through the cheese store. First up were the 5 layers of dip. Banana man shot banana grenades at the wall of dip, but its five layers gave the dip extra defense.

My food habits vary, some days I eat a lot of food and other days I don’t eat very much. My favorite food to eat is frozen yogurt/ice cream. Some foods I dislike are tomatoes and zucchinis. My parents often encourage me to eat vegetables. I sometimes listen depending on what vegetables are available. I normally eat healthier foods around dinner time. I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and one or two snacks in between. One school days I don’t eat a very large breakfast due to limited time, but on the weekends I have time to make a larger breakfast, such as waffles. On the weekend I tend to eat out at restaurants and on week days we usually make dinner at home.

The business, “Built With Chocolate Milk” is a food and beverage company that is informing athletes with the knowledge of drinking chocolate milk after their workouts. The company is sponsoring athlete Mirinda Carfrae in their promotion for the reason being that she refuels with chocolate milk after she completes a workout. The advertisement was featured in the magazine “Bicycling” due to the athletic nature of the drink and magazine. The company’s focus is educating their customers by briefly explaining on the advertisement the benefits of consuming chocolate milk after a workout. Also, in the “Built With Chocolate Milk” advertisement, the producer uses different font sizes to highlight important information, a unique color perspective as well as the athlete Mirinda Carfrae to sell the product.

I was born to a father with the history of Diabetic mellitus and on my mother’s side; there is a history of High Blood Pressure. Although my father is not diabetic, my mother has been diagnosed with blood pressure. Blood pressure has been a steady disease in my household which has affected four out my five uncles. In 2010, after a seven year long battle with infertility, I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure which I was given medication for and shortly thereafter, I had a son after my aggressive treatment. Ever since, I have always link most diseases with food intake and I strongly believe that my nutrition and my health work hand in hand. According to Grodner, Roth &Walkingshaw (2012),

The book dairy of a wimpy kid old school is about greg talking about his parents say the older days were better. He is not very sure to why his parents think that but greg thinks his parents are just jealous. In the book he goes through these activities and adventures that he never experienced before.
