At its height, the Roman Empire was the most extensive political and social structure in western civilization. The remains of this empire can still be seen today. The empire was filled with advanced people and technology for its time. The Roman Empire has rich history, helpful geography and resources, provinces, an advanced government, and unique people and culture.
Ancient Rome can be divided into three main parts. The Roman Monarchy, the Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire. The Romans believed that a man named Romulus founded the city of Rome. The legend is that Romulus and his twin brother Remus were cast away in a basket on the Tiber river. A she-wolf found them and gave the twins her milk. The farmer and his wife, owners of the she-wolf, found the twins and raised them from there. Later in an argument, Romulus killed Remus and then founded the city of Rome on April 21,753 B.C. Historians still do not know how much of this legend is true or if it is true at all. Either way, Rome is named after Romulus. The Roman Republic moved on to the Roman Empire because of a man named Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was a cunning politician who centralized government around himself. The people of the Roman Republic feared that Caesar would make himself king and end the republic. Due to this fear, Julius Caesar was stabbed to his death outside of the senate building on the Ides of March on March 15, 44 B.C. The concept of one man ruling continued with Julius Caesar’s
The Roman Empire is known as one of the strongest empires in history, due to their advanced technology, strong military leaders, and republican government. As the empire started to expand, so did their power. However, after years have gone by, the Roman Empire started to fall. Their fall may have been caused by political reason, such as the empire being just too much to handle, Diocletian splitting the territory in half, and their government corruption.
The Roman Empire thrived for many generations until the influence of both people of Rome and those outside Rome. Rome had been an advanced society with stable government, large cities, beautiful architecture, and advanced technology. Unfortunately it did not last forever and the fall affected Western Europe who was greatly influenced by Rome. Western Europe went from a high functioning society to a land of may manors. The causes of Rome's fall varied from invasions, overgrowth, and poor leaders.
The Roman Empire was one of the most popular empires that there ever was. It was also one of the largest as it went as far as Memphis in the South and Europe in the North (document 3). The empire’s location was not the best. Water practically surrounded the entire empire. The Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and Caspian Sea were all ports of water around it. However, that did not hold back the empire’s power, as it quickly adapted and used it to their advantage. Sea trade, deep harbors, and roads are a few of the ways that the Roman Empire used their location to help themselves.
Roman Republic, one of the most famous republic in ancient time, established a form of government comprising three main parts: a few magistrates, a Senate, and several assemblies. Roman Republic was the period of ancient Roman civilization starting with the collapse of the Roman Kingdom in 509 BC, and ended in 27 BC with the founding of the Roman Empire. The government had representatives selected by citizen and ended because of the civil war between powerful generals including Antony and Brutus.
As history teaches, the Roman Empire was a great and solid empire. From the time of its birth to its fall the Roman Empire was known and remembered for its greatness. Yet through all of that, somehow, someway it fell apart. It became the million dollar question that almost everyone was asking themselves. How and why did the Roman Empire fall? The answer to that question is inconsistency and the lack of good leadership.
The Roman empire expanded and influenced a large region of the Indo-European continent. This influence served as a model, in some ways,by shaping the present day culture and laws we have. The large expansion of the Roman empire during the reign of Augustus brought about the assimilation of the Roman influence into various systems of politics, law, religion, and culture.
The Roman Republic and the Roman Empire together lasted for over one-thousand years, and at its height, their extensive territories stretched from the Atlantic Ocean in the West, to the rivers of Mesopotamia in the East, and from the Sahara desert in the South, to the River Rhine in Northern Europe. The one factor that made this spectacular feat possible was the exploits of the Roman Military. The military had succeeded in their expansion campaigns and had successfully defended the borders against foreign invaders for centuries. The fact of the matter was that the Roman Military was the deciding factor in any successes or failures the Roman state incurred, and at its most basic element, it was ultimately the successful strategies and doctrines of the Roman Army that made their victories so pervasive. This paper will trace the development of the military from the early Roman period through the Marius ' reforms, with an emphasis placed on the primary battle formations and tactics employed by the Roman Legions.
What kind of technology in the Roman Empire affect its growth the most? I will be investigating from the start of the Roman Empire in 753 BCE to when the Western Roman Empire fell in 476 CE. This investigation will have a broad scope while investigating and include things from the Roman Legion to aqueducts and concrete. This investigation will not include technology that was not widely used to better the Roman Empire. The research question will answer my question by conducting research on how different groups of technology made the Roman Empire better based off of their potential uses and different contributions to Roman society.

The Roman Empire was the post-Republican period of the ancient Roman civilization, characterized by government headed by emperors, and large territorial holdings around the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, Africa, and Asia. The 500 year old republic which preceded it was severely destabilized in a series of civil wars and political conflict, during which Julius Caesar was appointed as perpetual dictator and then assassinated in 44 BC. Civil wars and executions continued, culminating in the victory of Octavian, Caesar's adopted son, over Mark Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC and the annexation of Egypt. Octavian's power was now unassailable and in 27 BC the Roman Senate formally granted him overarching power and the new
The Roman empire is considered one of the most powerful and longest lasting empire of all time by most historians. At its peak the Roman empire managed to take control and rule nearly the whole inhabited world at the time. Though their military achievements were outstanding the Romans also excelled at legislature. The Romans ran a governmental system which was most like a republic which the power was in the hand of the senators and patricians. The senators and patricians were mostly extremely rich elders of the community who linked themselves to gods. Though the people were the ones who voted for the senators the rich always voted who they wanted because they were the first to vote which made the senate corrupt since the lower classes barely got a say. Although the Roman empire was extremely successful historians are always doing research to figure out what elements led to its collapse. However, the Roman legislature, use of propaganda to sway public opinion, military power to conquer lands, and philosophy were essential reasons for the extended survival of the Roman empire.

In about the 5th century, Rome is conquered.
