24 September 2016 Annotated Bibliography: Animal Testing This is an annotated bibliography of animal testing and research to see if it’s morally justified. There are many opinions on the results and the entire process that it takes to test or experiment a cosmetic product or a medicine on an animal. There are many alternatives and benefits to animal testing but is it really justified? Or could animals be in potential danger.

Not all people seem to agree though many think animals are abused or live in danger but for the most parts testing centers tend to respect animal rights and make sure they are well taken care of . I would use this in my article and start by showing the many benefits of animal testing. In order to carry out data it is important for the researcher to make sure that they find testing centers and show how animals are getting along with each other and the way that people are treating them Animal testing is changing life for mankind and with more technology being created there will be a higher demand for animal testing who are the closest creature to humans only that way will we know how to make substances adapt to a human and benefit the human …show more content…
Its essential to understand benefits of animal use and know that whether a person wants it or not animal use will go on and on .Some states are trying to come up with laws to show how animals testing should be banned and never used many students would suffer if this choice were to be made how would they learn how an animal's body works not only students but also biologists and scientist who create new things everyday .Animal testing is one of the best things that can be used . I plan to use this article in my research by showing all the great things animal testing has helped accomplished and maybe find students and other people involved and see the effects of animal testing banning and how it has affected them in a negative way and show others the information i gather and show how animal testing is the best option.

Today I am going to talk to you about why exactly animal testing is unethical and unnecessary, and what you all as an audience can do to make this happen.

“Every year in the U.S., over 25 million animals are used in biomedical experimentation, product and cosmetic testing, and science education...” (neavs.org)
From when you are a baby to when you are an adult animal testing is used in your everyday products. From the Pampers you put on as a baby and the Johnson and Johnson you are washed with. To when you are older the Febreeze, Sunsilk, and Gillette you use.( Companies That do Test on Animals) Animal testing surrounds you in every act of life. “The guess is around 100 million animals are used worldwide in animal testing.” (Animal Rights) Animal testing is rooted from natural curiosity. How the insides of a living organism operate and look is an interesting idea. Because of the fact that dissection of humans was illegal by the Roman Church, animals were the second best option for knowledge of living organisms. (Animal Testing) The debate

Listing the source for providing animals subject to experimentation, this website gives details procedures and examples of what the animals go through and how badly they are treated. It also gives multiple cases of where animal testing was strictly unreliable and caused great mishap among many communities relying on this treacherousness. This website pinpoints exact companies and their involvement in the controversy whereas other sources would have given a rough idea. It also provides graphic pictures exhibiting the condition of the animals undergoing experimentation which provides a brief over view of the creatures after or during testing. Many alternatives are discussed in this website to assure that there is another option instead of hurting innocent animals in the unreliable task of
Specific Purpose – To persuade my audience that animal testing is wrong and how other safer alternatives should be taken.
How these scientists made discoveries that has helped the human race understand more about diseases and how things work.

Animal testing is an experiment used in science where animals are alive and are forced to go through pain and distress. Animals are being tested constantly in laboratories where they stay in cold cages. Humans believe that animal testing is beneficial because animals are put to the test to develop medicines such as Abilify that treats schizophrenia and bipolar disorder where the drug is tested on rats, dogs, monkeys, and rabbits, furthermore, animals are also tested for cosmetics, for instance, Maybelline. Testing on animals is not necessary because it causes suffering, it is unethical, and it has been unsuccessful for human medicine.
In the United States over 100 million animals are use for animal testing they treat them in a cruel way. However, these creatures suffer many damages and the problem is that they cannot defend themselves and if we still consuming products that includes animal testing this plague is never going to end. Some of the main reasons why we should stop buying products that they use animals for testing are because of the physical pain they cause to the animal, animals’ rights are violated when they use them for research and, the mental damage you cause to the animal if they survive.
My thesis is that animal testing should be banned from our society altogether. Animal rights advocates argue that testing is a subject that has been argued countless amount of times in medical journals, and it has shown that it is a waste of animal lives. Subsequently, processing of a single drug requires more than 50 trials and use of as many as 12,000 animals. Moreover, regardless of the ethical issues that derive from animal testing, the infliction of physical/psychological distress on animals are resource and time deterring. Furthermore, animal experimentation provides a source of limited knowledge of how certain chemicals would behave in a human body. (Humane Society International).
Animal testing has long played a part in the science of testing, and it still plays a very important role in the medical world. Testing on animals in order to create a cure for AIDS is one thing, but testing on animals for human vanity is another. Animal testing is used to test the safety of a product. It has kept some very unsafe substances out of the cosmetic world. However, in this day in age, animal testing is not the only way to test the safety of a product. Animal testing in cosmetics has decreased over the years. However, it is still used by many companies in America. Animal testing is not only cruel, but it is also unnecessary in today’s advanced scientific world.
I intend to argue that there are other ways to test drugs, cosmetics, or household cleaning supplies on, rather than using animals for their research experiments. To argue my point, I plan on looking into animal testing in depth and how it is cruel and inhumane. To start I will look at the history, because animal testing dates back to around five hundred B.C. Then intend to look at the laws and regulations that are in place for the use of animals in research, like The Animal and Welfare Act (AWA). Then I will look at what companies and organizations are for or against animal testing, for example, Mary Kay, Avon, and Maybelline are some of the companies that test their products on animals.
