UNIT 10 (F919) A03 – HOW QUALITY ASSURANCE IS PROMOTED BY SERVICES
quality assurance is a system for evaluating the performance, the quality if the services they provide i.e. what chamberlayne provie for their service users. Many quality assurance procedures would be set by the central government. Standards, governance, and quality control are all essential in any care setting like the NHS of any health service.
Standards

In chamberlayne they collect evidence throughout the year and then this serves towards an improvement as they reconsider strategies for reaching their targets set. They also have monthly quality performance visits, monthly profiling reports and OFSTED inspections regulalrly so they can keep up with meeting their targets and ensuring they are doing everything they can.
Using performance measures in social care
The commision for social care inspections is respoinsible for; Inspections of all social care organisations against nationals standards and publishing reports. Registering services that are met national minimum standards. Inspections of local services authorities. Publishing an annal report to parliament on progress in social care and analysing expediture. Publishing star ratings for local authorities.

These would apply to chamberlayne; these are a way of promoting a good practice and identifying areas for improvement. The NMC were set up by the UK government in 2002 to regulate nursing and midwifery professionals in the UK, the main aim of the NMC is the protection of the public. The NMC’s revised code became effective in 2015, the code sets out standards for good practice and behaviour that all nurses and midwives adhere to. The new Code puts patients and service users at the heart of practice with the intention of better protecting the public. (Nmc.org.uk, 2015). The SSSC provides both social care workers and employers with codes of practice, these codes provide guidance and standards to which workers and employers should meet. Forming from the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, the SSSC was established with an aim of protecting the user of services and setting standards that professionals are required to adhere to. (User, 2017)
NHS quality improvement programs main purpose is to collect and review data entered in order to recognize the opportunities to improve business operations in healthcare. To bring changes in quality, it is necessary to respond to patient’s ideas and implement them for the better results. The key issues that are to be considered for quality-improvement NHS program, as it moves forward are the needs for the patients, necessity of the funds for quality improvements, needs of the service providers and expectations of the community. Outcomes for people and also change expertise. And to improve business operations in healthcare and also recognize opportunities.
Ofsted give clear guidelines on how the setting should run on a daily basis. This is evaluated by ongoing paperwork and meeting targets. Policies and procedures put into place guidelines on all care standards and regulations that all staff should adhere too. This is evaluated through appraisals and reflective practice. For example: When starting in the setting, I observed a staff member ‘doing for’ the children, rather than encouraging them. This was regarding the children’s independence and found that rather than staff giving out the children’s cutlery and cups during lunch- the children help each other to hand it out. I enforced this by having an informal chat with my Manager after careful observation.
The duty that a setting has to safeguard its children, staff, parents carers & support its community and regulators in their inspection processes is paramount, this means that recommendations within serious case reviews offer the opportunity to examine current practice, what's happening and how it happens, within the setting and externally with other organisations, agencies and service providers.
This essay will look at the ways in which quality can be reviewed in Health and Social care agencies. It will then go on to analyse these methods and look at the problems that these can present, and the opportunities to move towards 'best practice '.
As part of the inspection, they will gather information and evidence based on the practice, they observe as well as the learning from the people after using the service. As per the evidence and other information, then use this i.e. gathered information to make a professional judgement on the services offered and it will then be published in an Ofsted report.
National service framework The national service framework aims to improve health and social care services and the equity of access for older people across Wales. The strategy aims to build on the services to make them better to benefit older people and their health. To create the NSF, there’s a lot of stakeholders including older people so they can help contribute to the benefit of their generation and the future older generation as everyone will get old eventually. This gives us reassurance that services will improve and hopefully in the future, we will receive effective health and social care services.

they must ensure the suitability of all adults who come into contact with them via vetting procedures, health, training, qualifications and ratio 's, they must inform Ofsted of any changes in circumstance of any staff or family member i.e. criminal conviction.
Quality Auditing is a management tool to systematically determine compliance to requirements. Poorly executed audits provide incomplete or inaccurate information upon which to base future decisions. The ISO 9000 and MBNQA standards and criteria are the two most frequently used audit standards in the United States.
Additionally they will review complaints held by a resident, visitor or anyone who has made a complaint and try their best to resolve this, they will also review minutes of staff meetings, a review of care based documentation for example reviewing a care plan and reviewing incident reports and their follow up, for example they will review when an incident has been taken place and what it was about and try to find methods of distraction for this not to happen again. Quality assurance continuously proves itself an essential aspect of care in the United States. Quality assurance evaluates the quality of healthcare delivery within an institution. Care given by healthcare professionals is examined and scrutinized.
Data Quality Measurement: A quality measure is a mechanism to assign a quantity to quality of care by comparison to a criterion. Quality measurements typically focus on structures or processes of care that have a demonstrated relationship to positive health outcomes and are under the control of the healthcare system. This is evidenced by the many initiatives to capture quality/performance measurement data, including:
Quality Assurance: The planned and systematic activities implemented in a quality system so that quality requirements for a product or service will be fulfilled.
Quality management is seen as the most essential part when it comes to the organisation of a business and possible the most important and complex component of business strategy (Golder et al. 2012: 1). It can be argued that the success of a business is down to the management of quality. This means managers must deal with meeting both internal and external expectations set in order to excel. Quality is a concept that has to be applied throughout the business and must involve everyone within the organisation and it is through this we see the implementation of total quality management (TQM), defined by Dale (2003) as ‘an ever evolving practice…which meet and hopefully exceed the needs and expectations of customers’ (Dale, 2003: 4).
