Elections of 2016 are coming fast and for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders things are beginning take a turn for the worst. After recently losing New York, the realization of his possible failure is becoming clear. One may wonder why the sudden change. Why is he losing? Before understanding Bernie’s failure, one must understand why past presidents like Obama won. Yes, what they are fighting for matters, but what are the other factors? When Obama was running both times, his wife was right by his side campaigning for him to win the position of President of the United States. Did you know Bernie Sanders even has a wife? How often does she appear? Is Bernie’s failure coming from his wife’s lack of appearance? One can make the assumption that Sanders …show more content…
Studies have shown that the occurrence of this misbehavior is commonly found in single parent homes as opposed to two parent homes. In the article, “Pros and Cons in Single-Parent Families” it states, “Multiple sources, both scientific and empirical, state children of single-parent families have lower test scores and high school dropout rates than children from two-parent families” (“Pros and Cons” 7). Having low test scores and dropping out are properties that belong to a child with poor behavior who also makes poor decisions. Children who have abnormal home lives are usually the ones to have poor behavior. Living in a single parent home is one of the abnormal circumstances that a child can face. Imagine now that on top of living in a single parent home a child also is adopted. Imagine the questions the child would have, the possible guilt that they may face. Why were they put up for adoption? Is there something wrong with them? Are they a burden to their adoptive parents? All of these questions can influence another consequence that a child may face when growing up in a single parent home, low self
Students from single parent homes also have lower academic achievement compared to students with two-parent families (Pong, Dronkers, & Hampden-Thompson, 2003). Single parent households are also at higher risk for child abuse and neglect (Paxson & Waldfogel, 2002). While poverty does not cause abuse or neglect, there is a direct link between the two (Bower, 2003). If neglect or abuse are present in Amanda’s
Bernie Sanders once said “Finally, let [us] understand that when we stand together, we will always win. When men and women stand together for justice, we win. When black, white and Hispanic people stand together for justice, we win.” Bernie Sanders started as a young activist fighting to desegregate and end the Vietnam war, As he got older he dwelled into politics and became a self identified socialist; he competed against corporate backing and a corrupt political system yet remained true to his beliefs of Universal Health Care System, affordable education, better social security and welfare, the right for a woman to choose what she wants for her body, cares for the environment, but most importantly, Bernie Sanders believes in America.
I was so surprised how Donna Brazile tried to defend herself when there is proof that she was the one who shared a town hall question with the Clinton campaign. I think that it was a waste of time for herself and others trying to prove that she did nothing. Also, when she said, “You're like a thief that wants to bring into the night the things that you found that was in the gutter”, I felt really bad for Kelly. I get that people doesn’t want to admit that they did a bad thing, but I think that it was a mistake to say that Kelly is a thief in front of the audience. Also, I think that she should not control audience’s mind to make them think that she is not the one who did a illegal things but Kelly who stole her private. Which is related to
Additionally, Sanders is running on a progressive platform, increasing taxes for the wealthy and expanding social services (Jewish Virtual Library). As a result of his political views and ambition, Sanders is currently polling in second place for the Democratic Party nomination. Not only, but during the Iowa caucuses, Sanders surpassed expectations and essentially tied with his opponent, Hillary Clinton (Jewish Virtual Library). Sander’s political endeavors have lead to a phenomenal chain-reaction among young voters which have not only enabled his message to be spread, but have also enabled his votes to be neck and neck with Hillary
Stewart, Emily. "If Socialist Candidate Bernie Sanders Was President, Here's What Would Happen to the U.S. Economy." TheStreet. N.p., 10 May 2016. Web. 09 Dec.
Sanders' support owes more to voters' enthusiasm for his candidacy than opposition to Clinton, the poll found. A whopping 96% of his backers say they support him and his ideas, with just 2% saying their vote is motivated by a desire to stop a Clinton candidacy. As for the controversy surrounding Clinton's use of email while leading the State Department, 61% of likely Democratic caucusgoers say the issue is not important to them.
Bernie Sanders has a thick political background, making him the most eligible candidate for the 2016 presidential election. In January of 1962, when Sanders was just twenty years old, he lead a multi week sit-in to oppose segregation as an officer of the Congress of Racial Equality (Bernie’s Story). Barely a year later in 1963, he took an overnight bus full of fellow advocates to hear Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech “I Have A Dream” firsthand (Bernie’s Story). Throughout the next ten years, Bernie ran for three statewide races including two U.S Senate seats and a place in Government. Defeating a six-term “local machine mayor,” Sanders ran independently
Hillary Clinton ruled a last arrangement of open deliberation trades with Donald J. Trump about national security and sexual orientation, telling voters they couldn't believe her adversary with atomic weapons and cautioning that he doesn't regard ladies.
The great race that happens every four years in U.S. is getting close to the finish line, and the contestant are pulling all out to win the necessary votes to win. One of the central topics that is very likely to determine the presidential seat this year, is the topics that revolved around women. Women around the U.S. are keep their eyes peeled on the race as it is the second time in the history of the U.S. to have female candidate, and first time to have serious contending to win the whole race. As the race is narrowing to the finish line, it is clear that the most vocal candidates are Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders. Each of the candidate have their own views on the central topics of women’s right, Sanders and Clinton shares
Election year is upon the American public once again. Time for televised debates between politicians clamoring for their party’s spot on the presidential race. Time for billboards and commercials attempting to garner public support and sympathy, and time for issues facing the American public to be brought to the forefront of the American consciousness. Amongst the many varied politicians attempting to run for president, two have been interesting enough to try and compare and contrast between them: Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Donald Trump is the current front-runner of the Republican Party, whilst Sanders
When Sanders, a relatively unknown, small state senator of Vermont officially announced on May 26, 2015 that he was running for the presidency, the media coverage was relatively scarce. For years the Democratic National Committee (DNC) led by the former co-chairman for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign and mainstream media had assumed Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee. According to these “pundits,” Hillary was, due to her experience, recognisability, and vast amount of donor money, considered to be the ideal candidate for the Democratic Party.
Some adoptees show signs for Adopted Child Syndrome, with the most common ones being truancy, excessive fantasies, lying, stealing, running away, learning difficulties, lack of impulse control, and fascination with fire-setting. The Adopted Child Syndrome causes many different corrupted behavior, which could lead to doing worse in school and lower wages that could cause an inadequate life and could even lead to arrest. Moreover, there is another disorder called paleo-psychological regression which cause extreme and uncontrollable anger from losing your biological family. Paleo-psychological regression can cause the child to become very violent and harm others. There were recorded cases where the adoptees killed their adopters, with part of the reason being the Adopted Child Syndrome, and felt no remorse afterward. Due to the adopted child syndrome the boy acted recklessly and killed his own foster parents, it could cause the child to be shunned more by their peers for being a murderer. As shown by data, about 17% of children adopted by those who are not kin have Attention Deficit Disorder, about eight times more than those of a normal kid. The higher rate of Attention Deficit Disorder means that it would be a higher chance that an adopted child would have a harder time in school since it would be difficult to do simple task with ADD. As stated by Nim
Negative behavioral outcomes, research has shown, is associated with poor parenting practices. Negative behaviors, such as substance use among adolescents (Chilcoat & Anthony, 1996; Steinberg, Fletcher, & Darling, 1994) along with delinquency and aggressive behavior, (Patterson & Stouthamer-Loeber, 1984) are associated with poor parental monitoring.
People claim that the only way for children to gain full emotional and behavioral skills is to be raised by both a mother and a father. When a topic such as this one has a broad amount of variables it is impossible to simply link these problems to only having one parent. In the article, “Single-parent families cause juvenile crime”, author Robert L. Maginnis states, “Children from single-parent families are more likely to have behavior
The single parent also showed lower ego functioning and in turn were less playful with the children, less empathetic, less tolerant of negative behavior from the children, and more likely to display non-age appropriate behavior (Walker & Hennig, 1997). Single mothers are more likely to make negative statements about and to their children, therefore resulting in a low self esteem in the child. Walker and Hennig (1997) also discovered an up side to single parenting, the relationship between parent and child was more nurturing. This could come from the loss of intimacy in the single parent's life.
