During a GOP debate last August, Megyn Kelly ask Trump about his previous nasty remarks about women, Trump was not too happy about the question. Often times during one of Trump debate when a question arises that Trump see as an attack from the moderators, he often lashes out and attacks right back, whether in the moment, or afterwards on social media. This is defensive mechanism for Trump, as he feels that he must defend himself, and make himself seem bigger and better, a way to defend his masculinity. This mechanism is analogous to the situation described in Pascoe’s piece of masculinity, where some teenager calls other teenagers “faggot” in order to defend their masculinity. In this instance Trump is cornered to talk about his derogatory comments toward women, Trump not happy to answer the question and after the debate, attack Kelly in a CNN interview stating that “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” This comment made by Trump is obviously referring to women’s menstrual cycle. Hillary Clinton’s unwavering stance has supported that women lives are just as valuable as any other lives, women’s rights are human’s rights, and anything less is unacceptable. Hilary Clinton understands that the world needs to recognize the unfair injustice being committed against women’s rights. She chooses to speak out, instead of remaining silent. In one infamous video released by the Washington Post, viewers can actually hear what has become one of his most widely known quotes, “grab them by the pussy.” Furthermore, one can hear his complete lack of respect for women in the video, saying other statements such as “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait”, going back to the idea women are simply objects to men, a main point Simone de Beauvoir was trying to combat in The Second Sex. This is not the only instance of Trump being misogynistic and degrading towards women. A said by Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly, “You have called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs’, ‘dogs’, ‘slobs’, and ‘disgusting animals”, to which he replied “[I don’t] have the time for total political correctness.” His sexualization of women has continued for years and is the exact stereotypes feminists are working to break free

The very being and legal existence of the woman is suspended during the marriage, or at least is incorporated into that of her husband under whose wing and protection she performs everything,” (History of Women’s Rights in America). The nation has come to know the GOP as a party that embodies the essence of conservative America. One characteristic of US conservatism is forgetfulness or strategic avoidance of sensitive issues that date back as recently as six months. Everything with the GOP is yesterday, today and a conservative future.
The five remaining Republican candidates took the stage in Houston to debate whom of the Republican Party should be nominated for president, but only three of them really mattered in the grand scheme of things, and one of them — frontrunner Donald Drumpf — truly dominated the evening. He talked both more towards and about any of his rivals since the Republican Party has finally gotten serious about the idea that unless something drastic changes soon, he is likely to be the GOP nominee. Thursday night was the first debate to feature sustained attacks flying in both directions on Drumpf with little fighting between the non-Drumpf candidates. It was also the first debate in which Marco Rubio seemed to define himself as the anti-Drumpf candidate, hitting him both explicitly and implicitly on both policy and personal matters.
The Republican Presidential Debate was, as always, an intriguing experience for its viewers. America has found itself in the odd position of having nine presidential candidates from the Republican Party. Leaving politics (mostly) aside, it became clear that most of these candidates rely on inspiring and capitalizing on the fears of their voters. This conclusion is drawn from the fact that these candidates are poor seemingly poor communicators. They are unfocused and unoriginal with their platforms. The only defining characteristics are their various levels of confidence, poise, and their body movements.
Many of Hillary Clinton’s campaign advertisements bash her opponent, Donald Trump, arguing that he is not the President that parents will want for their daughters. However, neither is Hillary Clinton. While on the surface it looks incredible for women’s rights that a woman is running for the Presidency, Hillary Clinton is the wrong woman. She claims in many of her speeches that she will be a positive role model for young girls, proof that girls can do anything that they set their mind to. However support of Hillary Clinton, simply because she is breaking the tradition of a male candidate, is spreading the message to young women that voting for her because of her gender is more important

It is a man’s world. From this verity, feminism has emerged and exists to empower women all over the globe. The roots of the feminist movement date back to the middle of the nineteenth century. In the United States, the first major progress of feminism was the battle to gain women’s suffrage in the early twentieth century. It successfully resulted in the 19th amendment being passed in 1920, granting women the right to vote. Then in the 1960s, feminism had another phase which attracted more diverse people. “Whereas the first wave of feminism was generally propelled by middle class, Western, cisgender, white women, the second phase drew in women of color and developing nations, seeking sisterhood and solidarity” (Rampton).
