However, besides the advantages of what same-sex marriage could basically bring to the society, are there any perspective in life and any idea that deny its advantages? Historically, traditional marriage was always recognized union between a man and a woman, and same-sex marriage was completely considered illegal. However, in the recent years, the hot topic of same-sex marriage has become a big concern of all countries in the world. Some people believe that homosexual marriage is seemed to be unnatural, harmful and must be opposed, while others think it should be allowed. The Supreme Court of the United States commanded Constitution guarantees a right to homosexual couples, but is this a good thing? These are some point of views and ideas opposing same sex marriage and claiming that it should not be legalized.
First, gay marriage should not be allowed because some people think of its religious immorality. Same sex marriage is considered as unacceptable to almost every religion in the world. Marriage is established by God in Paradise for our first parents, Adam and Eve. Jesus Christ once taught: “From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife.” (“10 Reasons Why Homosexual “Marriage” is Harmful and Must Be Opposed”). Also, Genesis wrote, “God blessed them, saying: ‘Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.’” (“10 Reasons Why Homosexual “Marriage” is Harmful
Gay marriage should be legal because as woman and man, all individuals have the same right in society; because same-sex couples can constitute a good based family; because it is just a way to make official a common union nowadays, even with the religious issue; because it is not related to polygamy; and because love matters and it does not differ in nature according to the sex of its object or the person who experiences it.
It thus prevents people from thinking that same-sex marriage makes homosexuals sinners. Marriage is a right that should be afforded to every individual whether they are gay or straight. Same-sex marriage thus helps solidify the appropriate social norm of sexual restraint and care-giving within the family. Legalizing same-sex marriages would be good for America as it would spur equality, promote family stability and validate LGBT family units as well as increase the number of children successfully adopted. Allowing gay marriage would be important in providing financial boon for both the private sector and state governments. Gay couples inject a considerable amount of money in the economy while spending on marriage
The political issue of same-sex marriage has recently become one of the biggest debates of the 21st century. Its rise in popularity soared within the United States in 2000, when Vermont became the first state in the country to recognize these types of unions between same-sex couples. I believe that same-sex couples should not be denied of their right to marry, but there are several believable arguments, which contradict my opinion on the topic. These arguments include the beliefs that; allowing same-sex couples to wed will cause the institution of marriage to crumble, citizens of the United States should not have to pay taxes to support something which they believe to be wrong, and that the legalization of same-sex marriage could lead to
never voted for same-sex marriage, that their rights should not be granted. They also argued that the LGBT community should not be allowed to redefine marriage. As a result, the backer of Prop. 8 urged the gay community to take the issue to a ballot. Instead of allegedly conspiring with the judges to rule in their favor, which goes against the will of the people.
Our nation was only made for straight marriage if gay marriage was to happen it will be a lot of divorces between couples some might change their mind and some might feel that their doing the wrong thing . Marriage was to help develop things and make things stronger between the pairs gay marriage wouldn't make anything successful plus it's against the law . This world was made for straight marriage to come among children and big housing and many things gay marriage is entitled. Gay couples would be very confused and did wrong at the step of getting married . There are only a couple who support gay marriage their actual wedding wouldn't be the same filled with friends and family because of the Grace of god people believe in . People may also think it's defending the God because he only came up with straight marriage to grow stronger with their lives being gay is just a choice and a relationship typical thing that doesn't need to be engaged . Gay couples should be able to keep just a bond instead of moving on to things that can't be developed because its defending our nature
Gays and lesbians can also be granted the rights to legal marriage in order to ensure that all citizens enjoy full human rights. Therefore, if gay marriage is legalized they can have the same rights as heterosexuals in terms of adoption and medical right. On the other hand, the religions would be offended since marriage is an institution supposed to be holy and ordained by God if gays and lesbians are legalized. Therefore, by allowing same sex marriage sanctity of marriage would be violated. If gay marriages are not legally recognized the harmful consequences the couples would face include inability to participate in medical decisions that involve their partner who are dying, lack of right to own common property and exclusion from employment benefits. Opponents also fear that if gay marriages are recognized the society is more likely to accept same sex relationships as moral. The traditional definition of marriage is valuable and the society should define it as the only marriage and legitimize it. As a result, gay marriages are the eventual rejection of objective reality where an environment of going against the norm is
Since 1971 when the first same sex couple Richard John Baker and James Michael McConnell applied for a marriage license and were denied in the Baker vs. Nelson ruling, America has been forced to debate whether homosexuals should be allowed to be married even though they are not the classical definition of a couple. There are many opinions about this subject from government officials, religious leaders and even the president of the United States. Homosexuals should be allowed to be married because they need to be treated fairly and equally.
Proponents to the legalization of same sex marriage came up with a lot of reasons as why gay marriage should be legal. The major ones are that not allowing same sex people to get married prevents them from getting legal benefits like hospital visitation, health insurance, family leave and more. They also argued that they are fighting for their rights the same way African Americans were fighting back in the day, and that gay marriage will not threaten our society. For centuries, religious and political leaders had protected the sanctity of marriage as the union of a person with a member of the opposite sex for procreation in a consensual and
Though there are differences in the views of different faiths, conservative Protestants, the Catholic Church, Mormons, traditional Jews, and Muslims share two fundamental antigay arguments. The first is that homosexuality is wrong because it involves sex that doesn 't create life. In the case of Judaism, a key Bible passage is the story of Onan (Links to an external site.), who sleeps with his dead brother 's wife but, to avoid giving his brother offspring, doesn 't ejaculate inside her. Instead, he "spilt the seed on the ground." God slew him, which some might view as a sign of disapproval (Links to an external site.).The Catholic catechism decries (Links to an external site.) homosexual acts because "they close the sexual act to the gift of life." Early American antisodomy laws discouraged all forms of non-procreative sex (including, incidentally, heterosexual oral and anal sex). Islam shares a similar view. One Islamic hadith explains that Allah "will not look at the man who commits sodomy with a man or a woman." But if non-procreative sex is the issue, society started down the slippery slope not with the recent Supreme Court ruling but with production of the pill—or, really, even earlier, when birth control became common. We 've been into the non-procreative sex thing for some time now. Even most religious conservatives don 't have the heart to go after this. If sex without the possibility of creating life is wrong, then religious
Gay marriage is one of the most controversial issues in this modern world. In my opinion I do not consider “gay marriage” marriage, because marriage has always been a covenant between a man and a woman by its nature. When two men or two women “marry” it denies the reputation of keeping the human race and the raising of children. Gay marriage also violates the natural law, and we should follow “avoid evil and do good”, the natural law is for every human being in the world and we should follow it by marrying the opposite sex. I believe that Gay marriage is one of the most unfavorable law that could of happen. I am against this law because not only it breaks the natural law but it also brings more diseases to homosexual people and instead
As the society changing, the history of marriage also changes. Marriage is legally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship, but do those two partners always have to be a man and a woman? Most people believe that homosexuals should be granted equal rights as heterosexual couples. Being as an important social issue, same-sex marriage has become a hot topic of public debates in the recent years. For over the past decade, public support for the same-sex marriage has quickly risen. The United States is one of over twenty countries that allow gay and lesbian couples to wed. I believe that same-sex marriage should be legalized in all countries for several reasons, such as being an issue of equal rights, separation of church and state, no negative effect on the heterosexual communities, increasing in child adoption, and decreasing divorce and suicide rates.
Lifelong Adoptions hopes that in the upcoming years the average adoptions per year from same sex couples increases. Like Chapter 2 in Marriage, Families, and Relationships: Making Choices in a Diverse Society, the family ecology perspective’s environmental influences on families just as much as families’ influences on their surroundings. In fact, same sex marriages are more likely to have higher income and raise children (Lamanna, 2005). Thus, as the world around us is shifting and becoming a more inclusive society so has the opportunities that same sex couples are receiving.
Gay marriages should be banned because God did not intend women to sleep with each other, nor men with men. It is a major sin. Plus, children should not be taught that same sex relationships are permitted. The effects on young children being subjected to gay marriages is the major
People are born homosexual. If you are homosexual you cannot get married. That idea is ridiculous. On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the right for same-sex couples to marry. Marriage is defined as a sacred bond of love between two people. Gay people also feel love therefore, they should be allowed the same rights as everyone else in this country. Homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle nowadays with a proven biological causation. The only thing that should matter in marriage is love and denying them this is a violation of religious freedom.
