Was it easier or harder living in a country area?
A: In some ways it was more difficult to live in the country, as the services and facilities that are available in the city, aren’t in the country. Everything is further away and there’s less of it. However, there’s a greater sense of community, and everyone knows everyone else. Although, that could also be seen as bad thing!
3. What is the biggest difference you find between the country and city?
A: The people. There are lots of people in the city, and certainly not as many in the country. I left the friends that I had made behind in the city, and had to make new friends.
4. Do you prefer living in the country or the city? Why?
A: I prefer the city, simply because there’s more to do. The facilities are also more up to date and are in more abundance. I also had more friends in the city.
5. Did your lifestyle have to change when you moved?
A: Yes. I used to spend time with my friends each weekend, and when we moved, I had to make new friends. I couldn’t meet them at the shops and just wander around looking at stuff or going to the movies.
Some possible solutions that are available to enable continued growth in Australia’s cities could be building more apartments or high density
Australia is a unique country, and it has a long history of population growth due to
The country and the city both offer a place to live, but the pollution, entertainment, crime and education; are all reasons why the country is a better place to live and raise a family. A country girl myself, I currently live in the city with my family, but I would give anything to raise my sons in the country. Although much can be learned in the city, you cannot get that small town morale here nor the manners that come from being raised in a small southern town.
People in the city generally have much different ways of living and worldviews than people in the country. Adherence to rural customs may begin to slacken, groups of acquaintances and
A. What impressed me the most in this section is just how he describes the city and how calm it was before
1. What is made possible by the agglomeration of people, services, and goods in a city that is not possible, or far more difficult, in rural areas?
More races and ethnic groups were speaking more languages, engaged in more occupations, and were living a greater variety of lifestyles. Some of the things that had always appealed the city life was: the abundance of choice, the opportunities for new sensations, new experience, and also knowledge. Document 2 also states "the opportunity for growth and enrichment were far greater than the possibilities of plow and pasture life." Which that quote basically means, in easy English, is that life in the city was greater than life in the village
Some people are deathly afraid of any sort of enormous change in their life. People want everything to be the same because they don’t want to get out of their comfort zone. Well, Lauren Ashley Jorge recently made a significant change in her life by moving from Hollywood, Florida to DeWitt, Iowa. She left an abundance of friends back in Florida, but when she got here she found out who her real friends were. After she left, her real friends texted her wondering how she was doing or asking when she was coming back to visit, while her fake ones made no effort. Many people ask why would anyone in their right mind move from Florida to Iowa? Lauren and her extremely close sister decided to move here because they visited their grandma one summer to
There are definitely more conveniences living in the city. Grocery stores are within blocks from your home, a gas station is to be found on every corner, and banks and hospitals are within walking distance. Living in the country means commuting to get to these places. It also means having to be prepared and making several stops to get all things accomplished in one day to avoid traveling back and forth several times in one week.
If you had the choice to live in the city or in the country, which would you choose? Are you the hustle-bustle type who cannot seem to find enough hours in one day? Or are you someone who is much more easy-going and would rather have all of the time in the world to finish one assignment? City dwellers and country dwellers may be only a few miles apart, but what they do in their leisure time is often be completely different.
Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature
In the year ending 31 December 2009, Australia's estimated resident population (ERP) had increased by 433,000 people to 22.2 million, a 2.0% increase from December 2008. This followed growth of 460,000 people (or 2.2%) between December 2007 and December 2008. The rate of population growth has become considerably faster since the mid-2000s. Over the two decades prior to 2006, the annual growth rate had averaged 1.3%, adding an average of 234,000 people per year in that period. The recent growth rate of around 2% per year is faster than at any other time in the past several decades, and faster than nearly all other developed countries.
How and why is the housing in Australia growing rapidly and how effective are the government ' s policies to control it?
In 2011, 20.7% of dwellings in Sydney were classified as high density. Australian cities are facing a number of challenges, including a significant growth in population, growing housing affordability crisis, a greater concern for environmental issues, transport and urban infrastructure.
Another two differences between these places of living are job opportunities and cost of living. There are more job opportunities in the city. People in the countryside have their farms. They grow different vegetables, fruits and make money on it. For instance, In Mekong delta farmers make two crops a year. They are Summer-Autumn yield and Winter-Spring yield (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Between these seasons of crop there is a distance. They do not do anything during this period. In contrast, most people move to the city in order to find a job because it is easier there. For person who has a good education, the city is the best way to earn money because different offices, companies, factories are located in cities (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). For example, there are ChoRay hospital, Sacombank, Vietnam Airlines, National University in Ho Chi Minh city and these companies usually hire masters, doctors, engineers (“What’s the difference”, n.d.). Also another difference between them is a cost of living. The cost of living in the city is higher than the countryside, for instance goods are more expensive there (“Rural area”, n.d.). In the country, most people have the sufficient economy. They can grow plants and breed animals so expenditures are lower and they can live on their own. The country life is simple and comfortable. Nevertheless, to rent a house, to buy food and to use a transport is more expensive in the city but the
Although living in the city has many advantages there are some disadvantages too, the cost of the living is very high in the city, the city is always noisy, no fresh air and pure water. So it is hard to lead a healthy life. On other hand the village the undeveloped area for example, we cannot easily get many facilities the insufficient medical and education facilities, few opportunities to make money, little entertainment, no or little public transportation, also less facilities than a big city offers.
