For someone to be able to play the well known sport of basketball a player should be able to have a ball that bounces. Athletes and teams put some focus on the temperature when playing (Wonderopolis). When the temperature is high the air pressure increases (Wonderopolis). When the temperature is low the air pressure level lowers (Wonderopolis). When the temperature increases the molecules of gas enlarge inside the ball (Wonderopolis). When the temperature changes the height of how high the basketball bounced can change (Science Buddies). The teams would want to have a gym or outdoor court at the right temperature while playing so that the basketballs can bounce at the pace the players want it to.
To inflate a basketball so it bounces high enough it needs force that is made by air pressure (TeacherVision). Air pressure gives the energy to the ball basically. Air pressure is the amount of force that the air has when hitting different surfaces (TeacherVision).The amount of air put into a basketball is measured by pounds per square inch (TeacherVision). For someone to play with a basketball that bounces enough for someone to play a game with it, the person must fill it with the right amount of air.
When you bounce a basketball you should only touch the basketball with your fingers and the edge or rim of your palm (OoCities). The person bouncing the ball needs to put force into their dribble to keep the ball bouncing consistently (Science Buddies). The person cannot just bounce the the ball softly if they want a reaction where the ball bounces high because the dribble will only keep it’s momentum going if the person does their job on the other end which is using their strength to bounce the ball. The force from when the basketball hits the ground can change its spinning motion (Real World Physics Problems). A basketball can spin in a different way after hitting the ground. Several different types of balls change direction when given a backspin (Real World Physics Problems). Making these different types of balls spin while throwing them up in the air can change the direction in which the ball goes after it bounces.

There are many high school basketball phenoms that are scouted by pro teams even when they are in high school. A select few in the past have gone straight to the NBA out of high school and had a lot of success, while some players go to college all four years to develop their skills at the next level. However, there are athletes that will waste one year at the college level just so they could get to the NBA. Why would you waste one year of your life when you could have already been in the NBA a year earlier? Basketball players should either go to college all four years and enhance their skills and get a solid education. If not, skip college and go straight to the NBA, rather than wasting a year of your life, and possibly a classroom seat for a person who wanted to get an education.
