Approximately 2500 years ago, a pair of elegant bronze wine jugs called the Basse Yutz Flagons were made, but until 1927 they were found by workmen digging in Basse Yutz in Lorraine, in Northeastern France (The British Museum). In addition, they were called the Basse Yutz Flagons since they were found near the town of Basse Yutz. Historians believe they come from a burial from an important person. Additionally, one the Basse Yutz Flagons was found in great condition, but the other one according to John Koch, the author of the book Celtic Culture: a Historical Culture, was damaged at the time of discovery, but it was repaired in France before it was sold to the British Museum.
