A Guide to Becoming a Sidekick
Superheroes do not possess abilities that are portrayed in comics; rather they take the forms and shapes of police officers, firefighters, doctors and especially soldiers. The men, who go to war, reluctantly leaving behind their loved ones in order to fight for their country and the safety of those who live in the nation, are brave. They are fearful and yet despite that, they are willing to run forth into the chaos that has unfolded in our world. I pondered about becoming a military soldier and concluded that I cannot bring myself to harm others; I’m not strong enough to deal with the thoughts that are sure to follow once the deed has been done. I will instead become the hero’s sidekick aiding them though their battles. My personal future goals are to attend a good college that will provide me with the education needed to understand the profession I am after and help me to work efficiently. I’m hoping to attend Seton Hall University and major in nursing while hopefully minoring in psychology. Once there I plan to earn my bachelor’s in nursing and become a registered nurse. My goal is to enhance the abilities that I possess now and to gain other characteristics that will assist me in becoming an efficient leader. I have taken opportunities that have presented themselves to me and taken them, such as joining the Debate team at my school. There we are taught that your opinion must be made regarding a topic and once you have chosen a side you must stand by that decision and defend it using statistics, facts, examples, and other references. To understand the environment of the workplace of a nurse, I volunteered to work at Saint Joseph’s Regional hospital as a volunteer as a nurse’s assistant and joined clubs outside my comfort zone such as the debate
