Behavioral Interviewing
Tell me about how you worked under pressure.
I was working for a T-shirt store in Maryland this summer. At the end of the season when the business started to get slow, the owner of the store told that he wanted to change one of his branch and we had to redo the outlook of whole store. All the leftover and old merchandise and damaged clothes was to be sold in this store. He wanted this change in one night. So, when I got off work after 12, I went to this store and set up everything in this store. I had another workers helping me but still there a lot to do and I had to open my branch at 8 am in the morning. We stayed up till 3 am in the morning and fixed the whole store. We put a big poster that said nothing above $5.99. Next day this store generated a revenue of around $6000 whereas his other three branches earned around $3000 only. What I learned working in this store is that sometimes you can not just sit and wait for good things to happen. If you want something, you have to make a move for it and make that noise. 2. How do you handle a challenge?
After I flew to U.S. for my Bachelors degree, everything was like a challenge to me. Living on my own; being away from

Our daily usual task would be to print T-shirts and work as a sales person. I had 3 other co-workers that were working with me. I would break down the task we had to do and assign specific parts to each employee. Boys were allocated with printing, moving boxes of prints and clothes and managing the stock room. Girls were assigned with mostly hanging the clothes, folding the T-shirts and talking to the customers. But at that times we would rotate the task so no one gets bored of doing the same thing everyday. This helped in building teamwork and communication. Working co-operatively like this increased the
Read the intake interview below. Then discuss what may be unclear to the client and suggest an alternative statement that presents the information more clearly for the client. Utilize the information you have read for this week.
Out of the three interview options I decided to do a selection interview. I chose to do a selection interview because it was the interview I was most comfortable doing and the type of interview I have been most exposed to in my life. My selection interview was a role play medical school admissions interview. I chose to do this type of interview because it was the most pertinent to my life because I will be doing these types of interviews next year (however, then I will be the interviewee). It was also fun for me to be the interviewer for this type of interview. I decided to do this interview with my friend Payge. I chose Payge because she also is a premedical student and I knew she could benefit from this interview as well. By practicing a
My frustration came to head yesterday when I had arrived to work around 4:25pm. The store was, at the time, not really busy but the only person that was available to check out customers was the dog trainer. Who was attempting to prepare for her class that was going to begin at 5pm. There were three
June is a female in her late twenties. When evaluated in my office her appearance seemed like she cared about what she looked like. June has worn dresses the last couple times with her hair down in what appeared to be brushed. During the interview with her and her brother, June behavior was steady without any outburst or anything such as that nature. Her brother reports that her behavior does get worse typically when something isn’t how it usually is like items place where she likes or is out of regularly consumed food. The other times behavior is a concern to her brother is when she goes out of the house by herself. In one example, he said she was directing traffic with a ping pong paddle while wearing snorkeling mask.
It was such a pleasure to chat with you at the Lime Connect dinner this past Thursday. We just wrapped up the symposium and I can honestly say that these past few days have been the highlight of my summer. Connecting with the other fellows, Lime staff, and corporate partners have truly spotlighted the strength that comes from disability and difference.
I feel that your employees need to be a little more experienced in customer service. I didn’t appreciate the service I got at your store. I hope to get better service next time
totally agree with your post by not having the right "FIT" in an organization can cause problems. I have seen "UNFIT" employees directly or indirectly cause stress, created misunderstandings between the employee and of his/family, and I have witnessed how they created tensions and conflicts and hence affected the efficiency of other employees within the organization.
A very popular, and useful, behavioral interview question is, “Have you ever had to handle a difficult situation, and if so, how?” When answering this question for interviews I call upon my first experience in a supervisory position. I had obtained my first retail job at seventeen. I was extremely satisfied with my job and got along with all my coworkers. After a few months of being a cashier an opening applied for a leadership position among the cashiers. I was promoted shortly after applying. Once I was given the position the store manager informed me that my main goal as a supervisor above the cashiers was to ensure that customers got the best possible experience when they visited. Unfortunately, one of my coworkers who also became a close
For the interview section of the group project, I decided to interview a twenty-five year old woman who resides in the San Francisco bay area in California. Choosing to have her personal identity remain anonymous, the interviewee has granted us permission to refer to her as the alias Mary. Mary is currently married to a thirty year old man and has one nine year old son. Surprisingly, Mary did not contract the disease by having heterosexual intercourse with her partner like so many other women have gotten HIV. She had obtained the disease through intravenous means. Mary’s husband and son are not HIV positive. Mary has been
People when they are looking for a job. Of course, they are willing to perform well. No one is willing to just come to work to waste time. Every employees’ goal is to show the best of what they have. As result, when employees perform poorly, managers should investigate the root of the problem. In case I face such of this problem. I will try to compare my workers’ current performance to their previous performance, at least for the last six month, then I will start to watch them closely on how they deal with all of their coworkers inside of the department they work at. After that, I will watch them closely, but not directly. I am not going to stay behind of their shoulders. There is no place for coincidences when employees are performing poorly.
I will conduct interviews in the same settings where I conducted participant-observations. I hope to have the opportunity to interview members of internet cafes and ask what about plastic surgery and beauty products intrigues them to research and share information about it during their free time. I will interview plastic surgeons in well-known and not so well-known plastic surgery clinics to better understand what elements about the cosmetic industry intrigued them enough to become surgeons. Also within these clinics, I will interview individuals waiting to get procedures done. Questions asked would include but are not limited to:
I have conducted an interview with a client and in my paper I will explain my experience and how I used the skills we have gone over in class. In the paper I will have a description of my client, my assessment, a summary of the interview, process analysis, and analysis of professional use of self. Not only will I assess the interviewer but myself as well. I will include all the interviewing skills I used and the ones I didn’t. Also, whether or not I used a particular skill or technique in the right situation and was it effective. I will share what I observed while during the interview, the use of questions I used, and did I show empathy. Last I will share my feelings and thoughts of the interview, any errors I have made, and if I had a chance to replay it what would I have done different.
The data that should be in an assessment should include the client’s name marriage status, religious preference, any metal illness reports. In the addition to, any previous documentation from agencies or another doctor that the client once was seen beforehand. As well as, any social history that can be provided by the client’s school, previous social groups or treatment groups with written permission from the client (Dillon, 2010, pp. 208-210).Furthermore, I would like to see the family background information also as this could be very useful into why the client has issues that may be extended from the family history.
What are the strengths and challenges of meeting with clients in the home versus the office? In which setting do you think the client might be more comfortable? In which setting might you, as the professional, be more comfortable?
I am writing this letter to give you some information and tips for the Mock interviews that you will have to take part in during Term 4 of Year 10.
