Beneful entered the fifth year of its Dream Dog Park Campaign in June 2015 and in the past five years, Beneful has helped renovate and reconstruct dog parks across America into Dream Dog Parks. By utilizing a multitude of tactics, including crowd-funding, fundraisers, and community leaders across the country; Beneful hopes to bring their Dream Dog Parks to even more locations in the upcoming year.
Winners of the previous four Beneful Dream Dog Park competitions include renovated dog parks in the following locations: Alabaster, Alabama; Johns Creek, Georgia; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Prescott, Arizona. This year Beneful will be turning their attention to the Lucas Park Dog Park in St. Louis, Missouri, into a Dream Dog Park. Improvements
I believe that a dog park would be an excellent idea for Muscatine, Iowa. Not only would a park benefit the dogs but it would benefit the owners. A dog park would help in raising and caring for the dog. Dogs should be able to play and be free in a space that they will be safe. Not everyone has the space available at their homes. Some people live in apartments that don't have the yard space needed to let the dog run around. Expecially with bigger dogs. They need a lot of room. I can understand why people would be opposed to the idea though. There's always a chance of a dog harming another animal or human. Dogs can carry diseases, fleas, lice, and other harmful things that can be transfered to humans and animals. But if you let yourself
In his article, “Let Them Eat Dog”, Jonathan Safran Foer analyzes the American taboo of eating dog. In doing so, Foer explores the implication of an important question surrounding animal rights – what differentiates a food source from its fellow creatures? Initially, Foer illustrates the differing views of dog consumption around the world, and subsequently questions the logic behind the American conscience. Dog and other companion animals, Foer reasons, are only exempt from consumption based on loose claims of intelligence and affection. He is quick to indicate that livestock, such as pigs, possess an equal level of intellect and provide similar displays of affection. Consequently, Foer proves the differences between food sources and other
The lack of off-leash styled dog parks across the United States of America have brought much debate and unrest within communities. Cities and neighborhoods that do not provide these types of dog parks make it difficult for pet owners to provide exercise, social activities, and a place where dog and dog owners grow and learn together. Park and recreation advocates question the public advocacy on the assets and location in construction for the dog park. Other locals are against the idea of off-leash style dog parks due to their concerns about safety and other potentially problematic issues. Ed Fowley a reporter and dog owner from Los Angeles states, "…They don't know how strong the pack instincts are in their family pets. These drives can and often do click into high gear when a dog is taken into a park with strange dogs." (Fowley). Dog parks can vary from different shapes and sizes however, the certain type of dog parks pertaining to this problem are those in which dog owners are legally able to allow their dogs to roam unbound by leashes or constrictions regulated by city and state. The park and recreation advocates of communities who have few or little to none, off-leash dog parks are struggled to balance the fine line that crosses the accounts and finances of production all the while, fight fear that it may create more issues.
Dog parks are places usually in a protective environment where pet owners can take their dogs for exercise and to socialize with other dogs. Some people believe that dog parks are unpleasant.Other people view dog parks as a benefit to a neighborhood. This issue is complicated.I believe dog parks are great.
Should a dog park be constructed in Martinsville? Martinsville is a rapidly growing town, and statistics show that there are 7,000 licensed dogs in the
Before you jump to the hasty conclusion that I’m opposed to a dog park because I do not have a dog, let me assure you I do have a dog and am aware of my responsibilities as an owner. The principal argument for a dog park is “exercise is important to dogs’ mental and physical health.” I would take this argument a step further and state exercise is also
Malcolm Galdwell wrote this article using Cesar Millan's experiences to show how nonverbal communication can take place and it's importance. His article is well written out, it uses many situations between a woman and a child, but also many situations between a man and dogs, whom can't communicate verbally. The article does not discriminate nor appear to be bias, but rather just informs the reader of nonverbal communication that can take place in our daily lives without us thinking about it.
Dog parks are a staple of urban and suburban areas, a place where dog owners can congregate and converse about the local gossip, or goings-on about the neighborhood. Over the past 12 months, a group of people have come together to propose allocating land for a dog park in Weston and tensions are running high.
Some of the most recent ones from 2013 are Scotiabank, the Ottawa Valley Veterinary Professional Corporation, Paws Fur Thought and Telemiracle/Kinsmen Foundation. Additionally, the organization relies on individual donations and welcomes ideas regarding fundraising. Money is not the only source of funding the organization receives. Interested individuals have the opportunity to view a wish list in which the organization specifies items that are needed such as cleaning supplies, wheelchairs and other
We as a comunity have to deside if we can use a dog park. I live in Kalispell Montana and in my case we dont have a dog park. I believe that Kalispell does not need a dog park because of the population. In my exsperince we never needed a dog park we have many parks that you can take your dog to so he/she can run around. When my family and I got my blue nose pit he needed lots of room to rome and play. I took my dog named Spike on long walks, long boarding trips, and
I believe one of the biggest problems that they face if the dog park is bulit will be the noise. As stated in the article the average dog bark can reach 75 decibels and large
Imagine you are a cute little puppy, you have luxurious fur and seamlessly floppy ears; you live in a nice house with a lovely family and live a very happy life. Your owners take you on nice long walks and are overall in great shape; every dog deserves to be in good health. Unfortunately not every dog gets the opportunity to go on a nice brisk walk often, sometimes not at all. Our goal is to challenge this; we want to persuade people to agree to learn about the dog-walking program offered at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. We believe this cause is an imperative cause because individuals who are well informed are more likely to volunteer; in all honestly who doesn’t love a cuddly pup! We chose the dog-walking program opposed to just
I fully support the idea of building a dog park. As many cities have leash laws which keep the dogs from getting the excersize and socialization they need. When a dog does not get the space and socialization it needs, its behavior can waver. Dogs can become agressive as stated in the passage, "A Dog Park Benefits All". Therefore getting a dog park would keep dog related injuries on the lower end of the spectrum.
The article “Get the Name of the Dog: How Thinking Like a Journalist Leads to Better Content” written by Justin Willet is an article about the skill of journalism. There are four topics and in the begining of the artical he tells a story about a fellow reporter did not get the name of the dog that was a really important part of the story the four topic he uses focus on the details for maximum effect, interviewing, research, and writing.
In 2002 the Hungarian government solicited consultation with the turkish government in regards to the pet food import ban Turkey had placed in March 2001 against all European countries with the intention to prevent the spread of BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopety). Hungary processed pet food did not contain the BSE substance in question but it was still banned from importation into Turkey due to the Turkish government's concern about cross infection. In June 2001 the turkish government provided explanation for their ban in which the hungarian government responded by halting the use of raw materials extracted from ruminants in their processed pet food (WTO). Regardless of these maneuvers Hungary was still placed on the banned import list which caused the Hungarian government to begin seeking outside international dispute forces for help in resolving the issue. Hungary inquired into rather or not turkey had formally
