I believe I deserve to be considered for the BG scholarship award because as a student and a young adult I’ve put in a tremendous amount of effort into everything I do to improve myself. With the money provided in this scholarship, I could further my education towards my goal of a communications major thus improving myself by advancing my education.
Throughout High school I demonstrated leadership’s skills and through becoming makeup crew head of the Leonardtown Rose Players. Heading a crew for theatre involves a massive amount of work as I’ve to analyze the script, come up with the character makeup designs, train the newbies, as well as make sure the designs are carried out within a two hour time frame on show nights. I established my intense
Trying to find balance between those two, maintaining my ability to perform and lead others, and effectively getting things done was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in life. Having the pressure put on myself daily gave me insight into the future. Through the small productive task the band was taking daily I could see problem spots or potential unproductive actions quickly and maintain progress. At home, when practice was over, I would research, study, and read all about leadership skills as well as personal relations. I learned from many of peers that a leader even with great skill will accomplish nothing if they don’t learn to respect, inspire, and influence those around them. Having the built reference experiences and seeing many different approaches of leadership I cherished every single principal I was able to learn. In the end, I did not become the perfect leader or the leader with the most talent, but I was able to empower my peers to push through the pain of the season and influence them to stick to the repetition need to build a great skill. The band finished third place overall becoming bronze medalist in Class 5A but won first place in the music category. This is the best the band has ever been and the highest place the band has finished in. My hopes and dreams for the members in band after this year is to continue to grow and perform to the best of their ability. I valued everything I was able to take
I am the most deserving of the Bryan Durkin Memorial Scholarship simply because I am committed to furthering my education, and have shown that commitment in many different ways throughout my high school career.
I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because I have great leadership and many other great characteristics. I helped raise awareness of obesity in our county to help in getting our percentage back down. I mentored younger children that came from low-wage families on why it was so important to eat right and get an adequate amount of activities, as well as rest each and every day. I did this by using the "GO, SLOW, WHOA" program to make it easier for kids to understand what foods are "go" foods which you can eat as much as you want, which foods are "slow" foods which are foods you should only eat every now and then, and which food is "whoa" foods which you should try to avoid this foods when ever possible. After we presented our presentation
I was surprised to see that I was qualified for the National Honors Society Scholarship, however I felt as if it was going to be hard to “brag” about myself. I thought long and hard on who I am as a person and I have to say that I have many leadership, character, and service qualities.
My leadership activities have brought big responsibilities into my life, but also great joy. As the Art Director for North’s Drama program every play brings new opportunities for creativity and new challenges. It is my job to create the poster, design the set, manage supplies, direct the students helping me, and plan ahead so that every piece of the set can be finished in time for the show. I could never do the job alone and it is such an incredible feeling to begin with a few ideas and bring an entire world to life as a team. My experience as the Hi-Tones Representative has been fantastic. I think that the most important piece of my role is to help create a family environment in the group. I also take on extra tasks whenever needed such as
Paying for college is an expensive endeavor, and my goal is to complete my education with no loans or debts. My family has saved money for college from the time I was born, but the price tag is still more than we have. I have applied for many scholarships and will continue to do so throughout the next four years; however, the CWEA Scholarship provides me with a unique opportunity to use my talent and love for color guard to fund my education.
Thank you for the existence of the Richard and Susan DiBartolomeo Student Scholarship. Getting a scholarship award was a critical objective for me to attend Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration. I am a transfer student from Macomb Community College where my grant award from FAFSA would cover my tuition and books.
Receiving an SHS scholarship would help me out financially because I am going to be attending Butler University for five years. Since money is tight and I have to pay for my college education, I will need to continue working and go to college at the same time, which we all know will be tough. I will be paying for my own food along with the room and board, which will definitely be a dent in my wallet. Through my years, I worked hard within my school. I am involved in many different activities throughout Southport High School such as Riley Dance Marathon, Tennis, Golf, Diving, Musicals, Plays, One Acts, Student Council, Peers for the Middle School, Peer Mediator for High school, Coffee House, Tea with a Princess and FCA. My involvement through
I am a senior enrolled at Seaman High School; I am deserving of the XYZ Scholarship because I am hard-working, humorous, and intelligent. For example, on top of schooling and extra-curricular activities, I work an average of 25 hours every week. When my work is finished and I have gone home, I help my mother take care of my niece and nephew, whom my parents are taking care of permanently. Your scholarship asks for those who strive to make it in life, and hard work will bring me there. In addition, many of my superiors and peers tell me I possess a humorous personality. Currently, I participate in an improv troupe at my local community theater and have written a comedic short story. This is an important quality because it portrays my compassion
Thank you for considering my appilcation for these grant/scholarships. I believe that I am worthy of the George Watt and Dr McBirney awards because of my continuious contribution to Bream Bay College and the community in a range of areas. Accademically, I have always given my best to each subject I have taken, aiming for the highest standard I could achieve. I find that there is a lot of fun to be had in learning and I have been able to apply these skills to other situations I have come across. This has been a huge success as I have gratefully received the highest GPA in my year over the last six years.
Because of my history of academic achievement, I believe that I am a deserving recipient of the IIAM Foundation’s scholarship. Throughout my entire life, I have always strived for academic excellence, putting in the extra effort needed to rise to the top. The effort that I have put forth in school has perpetuated my understanding of the importance of obtaining a quality education after high school graduation. Unfortunately for the individual looking to push forward in his academic career, a bachelor’s degree, while not only generally requiring an additional four years, also requires a substantial amount of money in order to pay for attendance. This poses an interesting conflict to the aspiring college student: to pursue continued education and be forced to pay for college in one form or another or to refrain from attendance. While college was never an option for me, I have always understood its importance in helping me build a successful career and never had any intentions not to attend. However, as I grew older, I began to understand how expensive a degree truly is, and researched the best ways to bypass post-graduation debt. Though it has been time consuming
In high school, I was able to step into the role as a leader and prove myself capable of initiating change. My school's Art Club had struggled to exist, led by seniors who graduated without establishing a proper group of leadership that would keep the Club alive. My sophomore year introduced me to the great group that made up the club and I soon organized a leadership group. Though it was still majorly seniors, the club had established a stable schedule of meetings. My junior year, I became president of Art Club and further strengthened the foundation upon which the club prospered with consistent meetings and involvement in community events. I also recruited three enthusiastic girls who are in training to lead the club once I graduate. Keeping an entire club afloat my first year as president was one of the most challenging tasks I persevered through. By sticking to my goals, I have ensured a future for the Art
I believe I should be awarded the “BG Scholarship” to help me continue with my achievements of my academic goals and to help with my contributions to my school and community. Ever since I started school, I was interested in learning. This thirst for knowledge has propelled me to achieve numerous academic goals, including being one of six finalist for the Student of the Year program in the state of Louisiana, placing first at the state social studies fair, learning to play five musical instruments, and placing first regionally in poetry. My love for achieving my goals lead me to become an active member in my school’s Key Club, Leo Club, Student Council, Leadership Group, Beta Club, Quiz Bowl, Rally Team, Chamber Choir, A Cappella Choir, and
Since tenth grade, I had always been an active member of Lights and Sound Club, a school club that worked behind-the-scene for every school performance. I mainly participated in school plays, dance shows, and some talent shows, designing lights and operating a light board, operating a sound board, and moving props backstage. I also entered the leadership council of the club in my senior year; and in that same year, I worked as a stage manager in Hairspray the musical, one of the biggest events I had ever been a part of.
I feel I deserve this scholarship, because I have overcome many things in my life to get me this far. The activities that I have been involved with have helped me grow as a person and have allowed me to reach out to others. The activities that I have been involved with include among others, interact club, and the rotc program I feel I deserve this scholarship because I achieve my goals by working hard, study and whatever it takes to get me there.
