Microsoft
Microsoft is one of the famous computer operating system, started by Bill Gates and Paul G. Allen. They both are two boyhood friends from Seattle. From 1982- 1985, Microsoft works on their first version of a new operating system called Windows. Windows was first announced to the public in 1983, but took some time. Some skeptics call it "vaporware". After two years when Windows had its initial announcement, Microsoft shipped Windows 1.0 on Nov 20, 1985. Now what people do that typing MS- DOS commands, people just have to point and click your way on the the screen or " windows". After Microsoft was introduced, Microsoft's Windows 1.0, was shown

Microsoft also made the Zune, which failed to challenge the Apple's iPod.
Desktop computers are used to put on your desk. These desktops are typically larger and powerful. Next, are netbooks, that are small, affordable laptops that can be used for limited or more tasks. Smartphones are also used, that has the same capability of a computer.Handheld computers are not really as powerful as desktops and laptops. Last is Tablet PCs that are powerful just like a laptop. Intel and Google, the two Microsoft's sponsors announced a lineup of the new Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and also, Chromebases. They were announced last Tuesday, all that which are powered by Intel's processors. Once-dominant, "Wintel" monopoly, the PCs powered by Intel's processors running the operating system, Microsoft's Windows. This has been fading for years as tablets and smartphones have now cannibalized increasingly sales of traditional PCs. The Chromebooks now present a new unique challenge to Microsoft's Windows.
The release of Microsoft's newest generation of technologies in 2007 now comes a very interesting highlight about a vulnerable program. Microsoft Word for Windows is so popular around the globe, is now turning 18. Word was actually originally a "Bravo" product, which was brought to Microsoft from XPARC by Charles Simonyi in 1981. The new Windows Phone 8 was originally released in October 2012. What Microsoft is doing, they have remained quiet about future plans
When people think of a hero they think of Superman, Batman, or Spiderman, but what they should think of are people that make difference. Bill Gates has made a huge difference in today’s world; he is an extremely successful entrepreneur, an active philanthropist, and a very motivated person in general. With this motivation he has and will accomplish anything he puts his mind to. He was CEO of Microsoft and became the richest man in the world. He also created one of the most credible and generous charitable organization in the world. As a positive influence on today’s world, Bill Gates has proven himself as person with his good work ethic, positive attitude, and great accomplishments.
Microsoft has grown into an enormous and powerful corporation by a combination of aggressive business practices and having written operating systems (DOS and Windows) for personal computers. From operating systems it branched out into other software which has, along with the operating system, become something of an industry standard.
Microsoft has been the world leader with respects to computer Operating Systems Software, and has increasingly become more efficient and precise with each release. Microsoft released their first version of the Windows Software (November 20th, 1985). This operating system was an anomaly at the time, and has progressed to the point that it is used worldwide on most computers in the world. All of the leading competitors have used Windows as a benchmark and have either copied its features or expanded upon them.
Viewed together, three main facts indicate that Microsoft enjoys monopoly power. First, Microsoft's share of the market for Intel-compatible Personal Computer (PC) operating systems is extremely large and stable. Second, Microsoft's dominant market share is protected by a high barrier to entry. Third, and largely as a result of that barrier, Microsoft's customers lack a commercially viable alternative to Windows, the operating system of all PC's.
Guided by a belief that the computer would be a valuable tool on every office desktop and in every home, they began developing software for personal computers. Gates' foresight and his vision for personal computing have been central to the success of Microsoft and the software industry. Under Gates' leadership, Microsoft's mission has been to continually advance and improve software technology, and to make it easier, more cost-effective and more enjoyable for people to use computers. The company is committed to a long-term view, reflected in its industry-leading investment in research and development each year (Microsoft, 2011).
Microsoft seems bound and determined to officially destroy the company that is known as Apple. No, they are not intending to blow Apple up or cause a nuclear war with them, but they seem like they are going to let their products do the talking for them. Microsoft is on a role and that role should only get bigger after their latest news of releasing a new Skype and smart headsets.
“The advance of technology is based on making it fit in so that you don’t really even notice it, so it’s part of everyday life,”Bill Gates. Bill Gates was right in that we don’t notice some of our most important conveniences, such as plumbing. Modern conveniences have changed our lives in the ways of making us more dependant, not as intelligent, and more socially awkward.
had to buy, Microsoft also would sing contracts with the vendors for long periods of time
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was established in 2000 by its namesake, Bill Gates, and his wife Melinda. The couple created the foundation “to help reduce inequities in the United States and around the world.”1 It is headquartered in Seattle, Washing and is co-chaired by Bill, Melinda and William Gates Sr. Since its founding the foundation has accrued an incredible $31.9 billion and has a net worth of almost $50 billion. With such spending power, the foundation has been able to make great progress, particularly in the areas of global health. It has also made a sincere effort to improve many public school systems in the US.
Bill Gates is not only a genius, but also an innovator in education, technology, and philanthropy. A prodigy, Bill Gates shares an education fact with Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and even his competitor Steve Jobs: no college degree. Instead, he devoted his time to his passion for technology, going on to create the most profitable technology company in the world. For much of the past decade, Gates allocated both his profit and attention to philanthropy. Evidence of his innovation, industry and curiosity can be seen at an early age.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is a foundation that supports other organizations who share its guiding belief that every life has equal value. Located in Seattle, Washington, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have an asset trust endowment of 36.2 billion dollars as of September 30, 2012. It supports grantees in all 50 states and 100 countries internationally in areas of global development, global health, United States program, and a smaller charitable support initiative sector. Microsoft (MS) is a multinational computer technology corporation that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of software products for computing devices. In the mid 1990’s, Microsoft held the monopoly in the production of Operating Systems (OS) for personal computers (PC). When their monopoly was threatened by Netscape, MS began bundling the Internet Explorer (IE) web browser with Windows, using cross-promotional deals with internet service providers (ISP), and prevented PC makers from customizing the opening screen showing Microsoft. These actions, which some view as illegal and unethical, dissolved any competition, raised the barriers of entry and inhibited
As Microsoft and the software industry grew, the computer hardware manufacturers no longer saw the opportunity to exploit Bill Gates= company, as they had done initially with BASIC, one of the first programs Microsoft
Software is the basis of technology. Without software most of the devices used today would not work as they do. Bill Gates, the cofounder of Microsoft, is one of the people who are thanked for the software used today. A hero can be someone who has shown act of courage in the danger, someone who has help to preserve and protect the planet, or someone who has made innovations to help to enhance every day life. Bill Gates is consider a modern day hero because of the innovations he has made in the world of computer software.
All started when Bill Gate and Paul Allen, two friends that as early as 13 years old started to mess around with computers, drop out of college to create their own business. This business founded April 4, 1975 is known today as Microsoft Corporation. Allen and Gates created a basic interpreter for computers, that was rejected by Digital Research, but later on IBM made a contract with them. The creation of the MS-DOS for IBM in mid-80’s gave Microsoft the high rock success that still last till this day, making them the dominant operating system for personal computers. Likewise, Microsoft became at a later time the leading business in office suite software better known as Microsoft Office.
