Living in two different countries can be a great experience that can change someone's way of thinking. We live in a world with many countries and different types of people, making us compare each other and ask ourselves how is this different or similar. For example, in Brazil, they speak Portuguese, but in Colombia they speak Spanish. That's one difference. Yet, Brazil and Colombia are in the same continent. Now, that's one similarity. In my case, I have lived in Venezuela and in the United States and sometimes I start comparing many things like economy, government, culture, topography, weather, traditions, etc. Many people don't notice how many difference and similarities two countries can have.
5- Laurel Palm Middle School was one of the top 10 performing schools. The school had a population of 1,500 students and they are multicultural.
Most of us are familiar with these global terms “American dream” and “drugs cartels”. These thoughts exemplify one the differences between United States of America and Colombia. Despite United States of America and Colombia are located in the same hemisphere significant differences in food, natural resources and tourist attractions make each country quite distinct from the other.
Throughout Latin American History there have been several important leaders, but one leader in particular changed Latin American history forever. This particularly important early nineteenth-century leader was named Simón Bolívar. Simón Bolívar as a leader stood out from all the other leaders, because he played a crucial role in Latin American Independence. He was a revolutionary, an intellectual, and a visionary man that made Latin American independence successful during the nineteenth century.
Boys State was a program that, quite frankly, I was discouraged from attending. I heard from multiple people from across the State that, “all you do is march,” and that Boys State is “military school.” I can say with utmost confidence that I will spread the opposite view. Boys State entirely exceeded my expectations in every way, and I cannot thank you enough for granting me such an exceptional opportunity.
The European Union (EU) is a political economic union of 28 members. The founders are France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Italy, Netherlands, and Germany. The Maastricht treaty established the European Union in 1993. The EU aims to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services and capital and regional development. These 28 member states have successfully integrated because of their similar cultural lifestyles.
European immigrants were sometimes pushed out of their homelands, and other times, came in hope for a better life. The German immigrants, the largest group of European immigrants to come to Texas, came for affordable, fertile land, but they were also forced out of the overpopulated Germany that had become overrun by industry. The Irish came simply for economic opportunities, and because an Irishman by the name of William Kennedy wrote a book encouraging (Texas: The Rise, Progress, and Prospects of the Republic of Texas) immigration to the prosperous Texas. France was also encouraged by a piece of writing- The Republic of Texas’ Treaty with The Kingdom of France, signed in 1840. This treaty communicated the amity between the two countries,
The little rock nine affected the school systems; even with parents and the governor opposing them. The students faced many obstacles throughout the year. They stayed focused and finally accomplished their goal. If it wasn’t for the little rock nine, our schools might still be
About 200,000 Salvadoran immigrants are at big risk due to the Trump administration wanting to deport them. I grew up and currently live in Mendota. Here, the popularity is mainly made up of Salvadorans. Many view them as horrible people but I honestly think they are such great people. I say this because they are hard workers. You will see them working in restaurants or even in the fields, which is not an easy job. Many of them come here for jobs and a better life not only for them but their children as well. This whole deal going on, reprieving TPS, breaks my heart because my parents actually came here to the U.S. themselves when they were just 20 years old, this means they’ve been here longer than they have in Mexico where they were born.

The “Bolivarian revolution” revolves around the rise of the leftest movement which started with Hugo Chavez, and soon many other leaders rose to the occasion. The sole purpose of this movement was to help Latin America get rid of dictators and reestablish under Simon Bolivar's ideals of making Latin America not a colony but a nation for the people residing in it. Now that Chavez is dead, I believe that he was able to complete Bolivar's conquest of freeing Latin America. Now that Chavez has passed away, he has left both good and bad implications, but I believe its more good than bad. “The real opposition to Chavez is from the United States which was so angry at the way that he built up a credible alternative to the U.S. idea of free trade with
Venezuela, located in the Latin American region, is a country that has been characterized by its abundance of oil reserve. A natural resource that has shaped the history and development of the country, affecting its economic, social and most important is political spheres. For many years Venezuela was controlled by authoritarian regimes. The country, being very important in the sense of geo-politics due to its abundance of oil, has been a key player in the international arena and most important, to those that for many years kept the country under their regime. It was not until 1958 that Venezuela experienced the change to democracy and a stable democracy was kept between the two main political parties of the time, Accion Democratica (AD)
Venezuela is located on the north coast of South America. It is a very interesting country, since it possesses many unique attributes and resources that other countries in the region do not. There are several different systems that represent these resources and attributes. Major Kris A. Arnold (2006) states “PMESII is (sic) military acronym listed in several joint and service publications, which evolved from a systems perspective, and equates to the political, military, economic, social, infrastructure, and information systems of states. The acronym provides a starting point for identifying key interrelated systems of an adversary and facilitates analysis and kinetic and non-kinetic targeting”. Venezuela is an especially interesting case due to the political system in place, in addition to the unique economic power that the nation has.
The oil-rich Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, located on the northern coast of South America, was for many decades considered among the wealthiest nations in the entire continent. While having the largest proven oil reserves in the world has often proved a tremendous boon for Venezuela, the very black gold that has been the cause of its success has also proven to repeatedly be its kryptonite. Over half of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product stems from petroleum exports – which equates to approximately 95% of total exports. It is really not too hard to imagine what drastic consequences shifts in global oil prices could have on the economy.
