Boston University Academy Case Study

Norfolk State University, a historically black university, is rich in history and deeply rooted in the south eastern Virginia region. NSU is the only HBCU founded in the midst of the great depression. Since, NSU has grown tremendously over the last eighty years. Now, the campus spans 134 acers and has 40 buildings, four of which were newly built as of 2011. Through partnerships with neighboring universities, community organizations and business vendors, Norfolk State provides vital services to this area. It is a pristine center of education and a hub of black excellence and achievement. Needed now, more than ever, is a reflection on NSU’s political, cultural and social relevance in 2015.

Two specific groups that I identify with as part of my decision to attend Columbia Southern University is based on my family and work. As an individual my choice to attend is based on my own desire to achieve a higher education in order to obtain a job that is satisfactory to the life and goals I have mapped out for myself. By having a job for which I have specifically attended school for, it will allow me to get and sustain a career conducive to my own happiness and prosperity. While my own individual choice to attend school is great, I have a family that encouraged me greatly in this decision. Both my mother and father, between the two, have a Master’s degree in criminal justice, and a Bachelor's degree in paramedic studies. Naturally

Sauk Valley Community College should have a track and field team for several reasons. SVCC use to have a track and field team. Sadly, they dropped it in the nineteen seventies probably because of the expenses. Track and field is a very popular sport that many students might want to take part in middle and high school, or even at college level. Track isn’t a very expensive sport. It is one of the cheapest sports to participate in. Track and field is also very popular sport in colleges in the two hour radius from Sauk Valley Community College. Bringing track and field to Sauk will bring about 40-50 new students each year. Also, this will make Sauk become a better choice of colleges in the area, because of the distance.

I am interested in Central Connecticut State University because it offers a solid Engineering program. Central has a beautiful campus and both my Father and Mother attended Central Connecticut State University. CCSU has a small campus with a relatively small student body. I also decided to go to Delta College because it was the best fit for me. I think it is a great school that has a lot to offer. The Kilgore Board of Trustees at Kilgore College, according to the Kilgore College website, has specific powers and duties imposed by the state statutes including policy direction for the college. They also establish goals consistent with Kilgore Colleges’ role and mission, but overall they are to make wise decisions that will further benefit the facility they govern and the community they are in. In light of recent news of alcohol-related arrests at Eastern Connecticut State University, I am concerned with the excessive prosecution of students at Eastern and its surrounding community. Project Know, an organization that tracks these issues on college campuses, published back in their 2014 “Drugs on Campus” report that Eastern had the highest percentage of alcohol-related arrests of all universities in America. My initial interest for applying to Radford University came about through an uplifting conversation I had with Danylle Kunkel, professor within the department of management. While attending a friend's basketball tournament who attends and plays for Radford University, Mrs. Kunkel and I met and spoke briefly about my aspirations for both business and management, and more specifically about my inevitably intention to turn my father's business "Z-Kabob" into a full blown franchisee. Long story short, she had given me some priceless tips about marketing decision-making, mentioning how Radford's entrepreneurship program couldn't have been a better fit for me. Her evident passion while educating me, and within business itself, is just one of the factors that makes me so eager and joyful to write this application with hopes of getting an acceptance.

According to a recent Travelers survey, identify theft, cyber security, and person privacy rank as the top concerns for most Americans. Forty percent of individuals who participated in the survey believe they were a victim to one of these heinous crimes (Survey: Cyber Risk, 2015). Companies are focusing attention on this topic and investing vast resources to combating these crimes. Questions arise regarding TJX’s role and responsibility to apprise stakeholders of a data breach. In 2008, TJX found themselves in the unenviable position of needing to address these questions and concerns. I firmly believe that education is at the base of success. I wanted to pursue a master 's degree in the nonprofit field because I wanted to fully grasp and understand the sector so that I could contribute to its success. As current inquisitive employee of long-term care, I am unable to find much current literature or many scholarly individuals who directly has working knowledge of the nursing home industry. According to the Specht (2013), evidence-based practice in nursing home long-term care is a necessity for the industry’s success. However, there were barriers that included limited current research on the subject (Specht, 2013).
