On September 16, 2016, Terence Crutcher was shot and killed by a Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer, Betty Shelby. Crutcher, 40 years old, was discovered by Betty Shelby as she was in route to a domestic violence call. Former Officer Shelby, according to her attorney, thought Crutcher was possibly impaired when she encountered Crutcher’s SUV in the middle of the roadway.
