Marano claims that the aggression of a bully starts at an early age. The aggression can be physical such as hitting, kicking, and punching or the aggression can be verbal such as name calling, threats, and insults. As Marano writes, “Bullying causes a great deal of misery to others, and its effect on victims last for decades, perhaps even a lifetime.”

After some research, I found out that the main reason for someone to be a bully is the lack of attention, when a parent is absent from a child life, this kid crave attention, wants people too notice him. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.

Bullying, in its many forms, is becoming an extremely hazardous problem that many individuals endure. Bullies torment others because they themselves have insecurities, have been bullied themselves, or have a mental illness that brings out the worst in them. Nevertheless, bullying can physically and emotionally destroy the victim, whether it is by physical abuse, cyber bullying, or verbal abuse.

One of the characteristics of bullying is intentional; behavior is an aggressive and deliberate attempt to hurt someone. A second characteristic involves the repeated aggressive actions, which occur over time to the same target or group of targets.
