Two people have been charged with burglary in separate cases. Bradley Metcalf, alias Bradley Crane, 22, of Scottsbluff, has been charged with burglary, a Class IIA felony. According to an arrest affidavit, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a rural home on Canyon Drive on Oct. 20. The owner of the home reported that two Hispanic men had been inside the home and left the area. The resident told deputies he had come home, walking through the front door, which was locked. When he went into the kitchen area, he said he heard a noise coming from the bedroom areas. He turned around to see one man come out of a bedroom area and out the front door. However, it did appear that the items had been readied to be stolen, with a duffle bag having been stashed with ammo, and an automatic rifle and ballistic vest located on a floor. Later, the home owner said a magazine for a firearm had been stolen. Cash was also reported stolen. Metcalf is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5. In another case, Amber Camacho, 30, of Scottsbluff, has been charged with burglary, a Class IIA felony. She is accused of burglarizing a storage unit in the 1000 block of West 26th Street. According to an arrest affidavit, police arrested Camacho on Nov. 25. Police made contact with Camacho after arrest a man, Michael Graves, who had fled as an officer was doing a routine night check of storage units. The man fell after running several feet and police made contact with him. Graves, who police knew had dated Camacho, denied burglarizing the unit, but said he had been assisting Camacho with removing items from the unit and placing them in a van. Patrol officers arrived at 518 N. K Street and surrounded the house. Patrol officers called the victim and the suspect out of the house. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

On Friday, August 12, 2016 at approximately 1000 hours, I assisted the patrol division in locating a burglary suspect that entered the residence of 1023 Barn Oak Court. The complainant/victim Nicole Smith stated to the Conyers Commutation that when she entered the front door of the residence, she heard an unidentified noise in the back bedroom. As she entered the rear bedroom the subject exited the residence through the rear window.
He was arrested without incident with one team of officers getting him in surveillance from the woods, while other officers arrived at the front of the house, Webb said. Webb said information given to them indicated he would be armed and that as many as six other individuals regularly stayed around that house.
Upon our arrival we were met by Jerry Thompson, he stated to us that someone had stolen some hand tools and atv wheel and tires from his shop behind his residence. After speaking with Mr. Thompson Sgt. South and I went out to the outside of the shop under a covered parking area and found a yellow in color Can-Am atv on a motorcycle jack without the wheel and tires. After this Mr. Thompson showed us inside of the shop where a tall rolling tool box was and informed us that various hand tools such as socket sets, ratchets and electric impact drivers were taken from. Mr. Thompson also informed us that in the office area inside the shop was a change jar with approximately $20.00 in change was missing and a 30 pack of bud light was missing out of the refrigerator in the office area.
A-Chief Fuller arrived on scene to assist. At that time I spoke with Roy Maldonado and Roseann Ortega who exited a side "unattached" area of 2302 Austin, which they stated they lived in and was separate from Rayburn's residence. They advised they had not seen Ballejo or Rayburn this date. I met with an occupant at 2306 Austin "Trish" who advised that Ballejo was at the residence yesterday and was dropped of by an hispanic male in a black suv.
I then made contact with Mr. Kevin George Plato (Suspect). Mr. Plato stated that he has been having marital issues. Mr. Plato stated that his wife and himself have been fighting ever since their daughter Kara had moved back home several months ago. Mr. Plato stated the reason for the incident was over stress. Mr. Plato admitted to slapping his wife in the face.
Prior to leaving the scene I did check the vacant residence directly behind 1431 Holly Trail East per Nita Dobbs request. While checking the residence I did observe the back door leading to the deck to be open. I observed no signs of forced entry and it did not appear as if the residence had been burglarized. I
On March 12, 2015 at approximately 0143 hours, I responded to C-Town Bicycle & Fitness Equipment, 1927 Highway 138 to investigate a burglary alarm. Upon my arrival, I noticed that the side glass window had been broken. Once other officers and the owner, Jane Hayward, arrived on scene, we proceeded to clear the building to determine if it was safe. No entry was made by the suspect and no items were taken. The building was determined clear and no threat was located.
Davidson said she had noticed the gun missing first and she believed her sister's boyfriend, Jesse Copeland, who has been staying at the Davidson residence with Mrs. Davidson's sister Lauren James, took the gun for money he owed someone. Mrs. Davidson said she didn't decide to make a report of the incident until her sister, Lauren, contacted her on 01/15/16 and told her someone had taken items from her residence. Mrs. Davidson said she was on vacation when Lauren contacted her and that she contacted the Sheriff's Office as soon as she got home. I spoke to Rob Bettinger who stated someone had broke into his home. Rob stated the only thing missing was a envelope with $700.00 dollars in a dresser in the master bedrooom. Rob stated nothing else in the home had been touched or messed with. Rob stated the suspect used something to force open the door from the garge into the home. I noticed the door was broken and the lock was in the floor of the home. I took photos of the damage to the door and place into evidence.
On Thursday, August 31, 2017 at approximately 2232 hours, I was dispatched to a residence across the street from 2220 University St in reference of a suspicious person inside of a black truck. Upon arrival I spoke to the complainant Ms. Delisa Smothers. Ms. Smothers stated that at approximately 2230 hours, an unknown black male went inside her neighbor's truck located across the street at 2221 University street.
Upon our arrival, Officer Ramirez and I witnessed the front door to the residence had been forcibly opened and was left wide open. The door frame was broken off and the deadbolt lock was still engaged. Garcia advised Officer Jimenez that at approximately 1930 hrs he observed two Caucasian females and one male besides Rosas house. Garcia told Officer Jimenez that he did not remember ever seeing them before. I then made contact with Officer Catlin and other Officers on scene. I was given the name of the decedent James Wyatt Welker, white male, 5/29/1973. I was advised the residence was secured. The owner of the property was the person who unlocked the door and located James Welker. Officer Catlin advised the home owner used a spare key to unlock the door.
