As we all are aware one of our locations was recently visited by a government health inspector. Based on new local health codes, new laws have been issued requiring trash dumpsters to be 5 feet from the property lines. Burgers & Brew are currently in violation of the laws that were set. I was giving word from our location manager that the government health inspector has offered an unethical bribe and would be willing to approve this issue if Burgers & Brew provides the food for his department’s holiday party. We will do our best to insure the store is keep open under the right conditions and with no help from the health inspector. We will follow the eight steps towards integrity. At Burgers & Brew the business organization is managed with integrity. Having integrity means doing the right thing at all times therefore we cannot accept bribes of any sort this act is not part of our business ethics. We will have to do the right thing and have the trash dumpster moved in order to meet the requirements. This needs to happen for all eight of our locations. We must understand the importance of doing the right thing, even when it’s not easy to do. Our ethics can be put to the test at any giving time. Ethics is knowing the difference between right from wrong and following through with what’s right for the business. Ethics comes into play in the decisions we make on a daily bases, we will not make the wrong decisions at Burgers
& Brew. We must take ownership of our actions by
The author Robert Solomon argues that ethics has to an integral part with regard to business management. He does not believe that business management must include unethical or illegal methods to be able to succeed. Solomon preaches that business management is not as simple as obtaining revenue. “Businesses need to abide by fair policies and their owners have to be ethical in dealing with their customers” (Shaw p. 37). The author acknowledges that while illegal practices in business management could bring positive results at first, eventually the business is bound to fail. This is why Solomon recommended eight important policies that can help businesses in integrating ethics into their operations.
Another limit to ethical behaviour at McDonald’s might be training and discipline within the company. For example, if an experienced employee was selected for a course or was offered a promotion, another employee might find it unfair and discriminative. Similar situation could possibly happen when it comes to discipline, for example a manager would treat employees making the same mistake differently and favour one person more than another. If any of the employees made an official complaint about any of those, it could lead to publicity’s hesitation and bad relations between employees within the company and its suppliers.
When an ethical dilemma turns to lies. On Oct. 20, 2014, Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke shot 17-year-old Laquan McDonald sixteen times. Once the tape was released thirteen month later, the relationship between the community, the mayor, and the Chicago Police Department was shattered.
Company Q is a small local grocery store chain that has a poor attitude toward social responsibility. After reviewing the given, I feel the chain is more committed to profit than social responsibility. Most companies are in a business to make a profit, however, the difference in what is considered reasonable and what is considered ridiculous comes into play. Most people start companies because it something they are interested in and to make a living. In today’s society the line between outright social responsibility
3) Should Mc Donald’s offer healthy alternatives to the same extent in all the countries in which it operates, or just those where it has been criticized in the past, or is it expecting further regulation? What if customers overseas do not want healthy options?
As many things in life, ethics has evolved through the history of our society. As anyone who has ever has read the news can attest, there are certain behaviors and tradition typical in societies around the world that may seem unethical and, sometimes, inhuman when seen through our ethical point of view. However, we often forget that many of those behaviors and tradition were, not only accepted, but expected in our society at one time. As our society changes over time, our moral code and compass shifts changing our outlook and tolerance for certain behaviors. And, as in other aspects of our society, the way we conduct business is no different.

The Volkswagen (VW) corporation experienced a major scandal after it conspired to manipulate data for diesel emissions. Business ethics, legal issues, and a Biblical worldview are common areas of failure and are clearly present in this case. Lippe (2015) stated that these acts were deliberate and examined the responsibility of legal counsel to mitigate such acts. If not for road testing by engineer, John German, excess emissions may not have been detected, and due to outcry, VW admitted to their technologically sophisticated fraud (Patra, 2016). God’s Word reveals, “But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known” (Luke 12:2 New American Standard
At this particular location Dalman has been informed by one of his location managers that they are in violation of new local health codes. The location manager has then told this information to Dalman. After reviewing the

1. The Sales Rep. A sales representative for a struggling computer supply firm has a chance to close a multimillion-dollar deal for an office system to be installed over a two-year period. The machines for the first delivery are in the company’s warehouse, but the remainder would have to be ordered from the manufacturer. Because the manufacturer is having difficulty meeting the heavy demand for the popular model, the sales representative is not sure that the subsequent deliveries can be made on time. Any delay in converting to the new system would be costly to the customer; however, the blame could be placed on the manufacturer. Should the sales representative close the deal without advising the customer
(Panza & Potthast, n.d.) Ethics is very important to a company’s success. Ethical behavior can bring benefits to a business. They can attract customers, which can lead to a boost in sales and profits. It can attract the right employees and increase productivity. It can also attract investors and keep the company’s share price high. Unethical behavior on the other hand can damage a company’s reputation and make it less appealing to stakeholders. It could also result in lower profits.
When it comes to conducting research, you would need to find which way would be best to inform the customers on the issue that’s presented. You would need to have basic information on how much money this will cost the customer and how cost effective this will be. Research should be done to find out what the city leaders have done unethically and if these individuals should still be employed within the company.
The ethical dilemma or issue of the burger company is who do we keep pleasing? The consumer or keep effecting our environment. Water is free however our government charges a fee to use it. This fee doesn’t increase or decrease if you use less or more, this is a set rate the company often agree to or a standard price agreement when they had arrange this deal. Now the burger company can cut production and help save the environment which is affecting the drought. Or do you go and affect your customer and business. “Wholesome Hamburger Company”, may be a well establish company which bring in millions or billions of customers. Many come back because they enjoy the taste,
