For our Introduction to Business class, we had to interview a business person. I decided to interview my uncle, William Kurtz based on his background, and the fact that he lives in the area. The purpose of the interview was not only to get information to write this paper, but to learn about a job in the business field, and how it has been affected by the changing economy.
He graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a financial emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He also has 19 years of experience in product management and business processes at Wausau Financial Systems, headquartered in Wausau. Due to my uncle's position in the company, he has to do a lot of traveling. Wausau Financial gives him a budget to cover his traveling for a year, and he has to plan how he will use it throughout the year. Wausau financial as a whole has to complete many financial reports, but the most important is the annual audit. In addition to the annual audit, the business provides quarterly updates for employees and customers, as well as projection aimed at quarterly and annual growth.
Wausau Financial, being a very sales oriented corporation, has a very strong marketing philosophy. They look to focus on the value their products have to the consumer, rather than the value than they have monetarily. The marketing team as Wausau Financial, comprised of 5 people, used many different tactics of advertising. They use mainly online resources for advertising, but they also publish few print sources.
To a sales oriented company, not only the actual sales are important, but customer satisfaction and happiness is also a major priority. Evaluation of satisfaction is very important to Wausau FS, and they do this a variety of ways. First, they complete an annual survey based on their current customers satisfactions with products and services provided. Secondly, they use data analysis, by looking at sales and how different promotions and sales tactics affect overall

Doing business in multiple states can arise legalities that international corporations need to follow. For example import and export laws. Also, customer care and product development are growing industries, not only at Wausau Financial but all across the business world. Although most positions have a minimum of 4 years of college, it varies by career and can increase and decrease based on the

Jeremy Bird started by buying a chip and tuning his own Buick Grand National. Five years ago, I was working for a pool company while attending graduate school majoring in educational administration. During this time, I met several different people on a day to day basis. One person that stuck out in my mind was Mr. Mark Freeman. I observed him as he would bring his family to the pool throughout the week in the later afternoon’s. He was always professional, kind, and respectful in everything he went about doing. He soon began chatting with me daily and I later found out he was the principal of the El Campo Middle School.
I interviewed my mom,Jen Figarelli. She is very dedicated, Intelligent and loves what she does as her career. From my knowledge she wasn't that “perfect” student who got straight A’s and did all her work, but she was not a bad student either. The attitude given during this interview seemed as if she was able to have fun and take things seriously.
Overall my mock interview went better than I had initially anticipated it would be. The mock interview allowed me to find out about skills I did not know I had as well as skills I need to hone in order to use them to my benefit in interviews in the future. I have had previous experience doing interviews for jobs and scholarships and have even practiced my interviewing skills in high school. I believe it is essential in practicing as much as possible how to do an interview because there will always be a new skill that can be attained and new ways of formalizing an answer to fit the wants of the potential job or opportunity that may arise. It is important to know how to formalize an answer on the spot without sounding unsure of the answer the
When I first heard that I had to interview someone and write a paper about how successful they are, I’ll admit, I thought we’d be interviewing a bunch of wealthy old white guys that have never known the meaning of failure. To my surprise, Josh Mitchell was neither elderly nor rich. After being thrown off, I quickly recovered and told myself that there must have been some major factor that helped him find an easy path to success. Speaking with Josh for even just a few minutes revealed that his success was not built on money or social status, but alternatively the problems he went through in life. I used to think success was only achieved by being smart and born into a well off family, but after talking to Josh Mitchell, I
On Tuesday, March 10, 2017 at approximately 10:am Melinda Acevedo and I interviewed the complainant patient Jeffry Shagawat and obtained the following statement.
Clayton Properties LLC. is a small business based in Portland, Oregon, which was established in 1968. The company began as a small family-owned business which was operated solely by family members. At first, the owners purchased properties and rented them in as is condition. The business became very lucrative during the 1970s, when the Claytons were able to purchase over 40 houses in foreclosure. Some of the houses were in desperate need of repair, so the Claytons hired their son, who was a contractor,
I am very sorry for missing my phone interview last Monday. There was an unforeseen situation that made impossible for me to attend the phone interview. It may not seem, but this interview is very important for me, I always dreamed about interning and possibly working for Google.
Team interviews are conducted by a team of individuals who will ask different questions. The individuals are normally taken from different departments within the organisation such as finance, marketing or personnel and they focus one a particular topic. For example, the individual from the finance interview will analyse the candidate’s response in terms of financial factors. Each person from the different departments will bring different sets of skills to the interview process so the individuals will be looking for different features in the candidates. For example, the interviewer from the finance department will look at the candidate in terms of finance and how well they can manage the financial aspect. Usually, each member of the interview team will have equal weighting of their opinion, so each person’s opinion will be taken into account as important.
In this technologically advanced, overpowering, fastly paced world we live in we often find it near impossible to keep up. Corporations like Apple, Domino's, Walmart etc… are expanding to extremes beyond what anyone has dealt with before. Small businesses are being put face to face with obstacles and struggles of competing with what appears to be the “god’s” of business; how can they keep a staff, manage their time, finances etc...?. Even though there are rules, laws, and regulatory corporations in place to keep track and slight control over these larger firms, they can still unintentionally, or for that matter intentionally over power and drive the smaller businesses out. It’s becoming a daily struggle for these local/small
Of the many approaches and techniques there are for capturing insightful, useful information from respondents, personal interviews are one of the most effective for capturing open-ended responses. Where the research objective is one of exploring what the determinants are of a specific research subject or topic, personal interviews are invaluable in discerning not just meaning but intonation and as well. The intent of this analysis is to evaluate this business research process.
