We’re all here to build upon our success! Our conference this year features a program with plenty of information, great topics, and entertaining speakers. Sessions revolve around our history, our bright future, merging historical and “green” building, and the final implementation of the Cabin Fee Act. Speakers will be discussing how drought is affecting our nation’s forests, historic preservation of cabins, getting involved with your cabin community, and how to historically document your cabin for future generations.
Our Events Committee – led by Jane Van Dyk – has set a fantastic 1-1/2 day schedule for us with informative general sessions and specialized workshops. If you are an NFH tract leader, and get here early enough on Friday, please join me in a meeting at 10:00 AM where we will discuss cabin tract leadership and issues that we all face. And don’t miss the NFH Annual Members’ Business Meeting which follows at 1:00 PM. to hear the results of our 2016 election. There will also be reports on the current state of our organization and details about activities performed on behalf of our members and all permit holders. A General Session and three informative workshops follow later on Friday afternoon.

The Monday after our Regional Convention is normally a rest day for us. We sleep in, then pack, leaving the campground only because it's checkout time. This year, we have a different schedule. Austin's appointment with Dr. Ouellette is Monday morning, and Tuesday begins the visit of our circuit overseer and his wife. Reluctantly, we drag ourselves out of bed, pack, check out of the park, and drive more than two hours further north.
