Car Advertisement
The aim of this piece of coursework is to work in groups to produce a car advertisement, which breaks traditional representation.
I watched and deconstructed an advertisement for a SAAB car. I thought about stereotyping. I then produced a;

for my groups advertisement.
The SAAB advertisement is trying to sell the car to me.
It implies that the car is a more powerful form of transport as a jet engine.
SAAB Make Jets.
In the following section I will be showing how my group and me deconstructed a SAAB advertisement.

Traditionally Men are supposed to have big, loud and sporty looking cars with a big engine.
Traditionally Woman are supposed to have a small, smooth running and enough space in the trunk to hold the weekly shopping.
The car I will be advertising will be called the "Magnifico". I need a slogan for the car and because of the cars name I and the rest group have chosen:
"If David Beckham was a car…(picture of Magnifico)
Magnifico, a star in its own class." (Black screen with company logo)
I am now going to write my storyline for the Magnifico advertisement.
There is a soldier on an assault course wearing green camouflage combats and a beret. There are close up and fast moving shots showing different parts of the soldiers body whilst switching between that and shots of different parts of the car. The soldier then gets to the end of the assault course and fly's down a zip line at a very fast speed and lands next to the car. The soldier climbs into the car and wheel spins away at a high speed. Eventually, the car pulls up at a supermarket and hand brake turns into a parking space. A man then approaches the car with a trolley full of shopping and two children. The soldier then removes the beret and reveals her long blond hair.
This obviously means that the soldier is in fact a woman who has went to pick
We currently use fossil fuels as are primary source of energy, but they are running out. In addition to that, they pollute, resulting in global warming. Humans have thought of many brilliant ways to save energy and earth, such as hydro electricity, nuclear energy, and windmills. Out technology is related to saving the millions of gallons of fuel used on cars each day by adding solar panels on the roof of a car. We chose this because cars use a lot of fuel. All this use of fuel is bad because we are running out, and we don't want fuel to run our and we are unprepared. Right now, we are using a phone which is slowly running our of battery. Since we have no alternative, we basically have no charger for your phone when battery runs out. According to the United States Energy Information Administration, we use 391.73 million gallons of gasoline a day(On average) in the U.S. alone. That is how quickly we are losing fossil fuels, so we need to run cars in another way.

Subaru and Hyundai are extremely popular, reliable car companies. In the Subaru commercial, a little kid is driving around in his toy car and the dad offers the key to the Subaru Legacy to him, but he turns them down because he realizes the amount of responsibility that comes with those keys. In the Hyundai commercial, the daughter goes on a date with a guy, and the overprotective dad follows them around to check on what they are doing. These two car commercial use pathos, ethos, and logos to show how good their products are and what it provides.
It is important to realize the basic facts that are associated with cars and with BMW in particular, and that different demographic are attracted towards different types of car, to later understand that even though the product in the ad may be amazing but the ad itself is not. Did you know that in 2010 the number of cars in the world reached a billion (Noël)? Today’s culture is highly surrounded and based on the use of cars. They are such a prominent part of our culture today that if an alien were to visit our planet right now they might just consider cars to be the dominant form of life (The Hitchhiker 's Guide to the Galaxy). There are so many different types, and makes of cars that they can suit any personality in the world.
Dodge, Ford, they are both good trucks but there is a lot of people out there who want to know which one is better. My personal choice is Dodge but this isn’t just about opinions. What is really matters is the specs and how durable they both really are. Many people may not know this but the Ford company used to be joined by the Dodge brothers when making the first vehicles. Later on they got into a dilemma and split off to make their own company. So did they prevail over Henry Ford? Lets find out.
The commercial of topic is the 2016 Toyota Prius commercial shown in the Super Bowl. The purpose of this ad was to disprove all other assumptions about the Prius in general as well as show the appeals of driving one. Since the Prius is generally viewed as ‘uncool’ the commercial focused on fast-paced and interesting aspects to make it appear more desirable. However, in today’s society, in order to make a product desirable it has to appear ‘sexy’. The Toyota Prius commercial attempts to introduce a better and sleeker car by means of color association, extreme framing and scale, and an up-beat plot and music to match the mood.
By displaying entertaining imagery and contrast between the Kia Soul and other vehicles, Kia is able to bring attention to their product through comparing people to hamsters and stating that the purchase of the Kia Soul separates the thrilling, innovative population from the bland, outdated population.
Our issue is that we need a new vehicle because ours was wrecked and the rental car we were given to use after the wreck by the insurance company is about to expire, leaving us no mode of transportation. We are looking into buying a used vehicle from an advertisement in the local paper. We weren’t sure if the vehicle was still available so we have called the owner and inquired. We do not know who we are buying the car from but we are interested in purchasing the Volkswagen Jetta because of the advertisement in our local newspaper. Just from reading the car ad; we deem that the car fits all our needs and we need to get in touch with the owner fast in order to make sure they don’t sell it to someone else.
Throughout life there are many instances in which an individual has to work in a group to complete a task/project. The importance of group work is to have teamwork with each member of the group. Humans are driven to connect with each other and by working as a group ideas become much more enriched and the ideas or thoughts that each person ‘brings to the table’ each individual is able to add onto that idea or it can trigger one to think of something completely different.
As part of the requirement of this assignment we used the social inquiry approach. As a self selected groups of five we began by planning the deadline for the different task and who was responsible for each task, as the first part of the social inquiry process. I find that through working as a group for this assignment we were able to utilize the strengths of each member of the group. As a result, we were able to maximize the quality of each section of the this assignment. After completing each section, we would give each other feedback and possible improvement to once again maximize the quality. To make everything easier we decided to use google doc to work on our assignment so all work is live and open for every member of the group to see.
What is the purpose of having a car? Is it to get you to work, or just for weekend getaways and fun adventures?
Humans are social beings who organize themselves into groups that share a common interest and are essential for discovering, developing meaning, and self-worth. Groups are important for everyday work, and they work toward achieving a goal. Groups increase the information of one person by combining ideas and knowledge. They can also help people in their social life through interacting with other people and bypassing their comfort zone. Not much work can be done alone, whereas a group can help solve problems and assist each other in work. Our group shows example of docile, zealous, humble, and diligent whether it be in our group or each members and everyone contribute to keep the group working.
It was a cold December night shortly after dusk, a likely setting for an event that would prove to be life altering. As fate would have it, this would be the night that I lost the material possession that truly meant the most to me. I would lose the one thing that gave me much pride and joy and excitement. I often think back and liken us to a newlywed couple, for we had only been together for 18 months and were still very much honeymooning. It was a night, a moment, that even now scoffs and mocks me as I travel thither and yonder with her replacement. But she can never be truly replaced and to call my current fix a replacement seems like a sort of blasphemy.
You have agreed to buy a new Subaru from a dealer. The down payment you will need to make on the new car is $9,400, which lets you take out a loan with manageable (but steep) monthly payments. You are low on ready cash, so if you can't come up with the down payment by selling your Volkswagen Jetta, you will have to borrow it at prime plus 5% interest. You are supposed to pick up the Subaru first thing tomorrow morning, so you want to sell the Jetta today.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed I could have a car which belongs to me. I still remembered when I was four years old, my parents gave me a remote control car as my birthday gift. After that day I started to fall in love with cars.
