Over the course of my educational career, I have picked up many skills that have made me a valuable candidate for the Charles Herbert Flowers High School Chapter of the National Honors Society. Some of the many valuable personal attributes I have obtained are that I have built a computer from scratch, I am familiar with the basics of the programming language C, I have over 90 student service hours as a sophomore, I do many after school activities while still maintaining a 3.6 cumulative GPA, and I am a student in the Science & Technology Program. With these attributes my 10 year plan is for me to graduate high school with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, attend a four-year college where I will graduate and earn my masters degree in Computer Hardware Engineering, and use the information I gained from networking with the friends to …show more content…
If I stay on track and follow my plan to graduate high school, I am sure to make it into a four-year college. Some of the colleges I would consider attending are The University of Maryland, University of Arizona, University of Florida, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Michigan State University for their strong engineering field backgrounds. While in college, I will continue to use the same skills I have used to succeed in addition to studying longer and networking. I will be studying longer because I know teachers in college do not give much homework for the students to practice the material taught or make sure everyone fully understands the materials, so I have to take the initiative to study and make sure I fully understand the material being taught. Also, to increase my chances of getting a job in the field of my choice, I will have to network with students and teachers to find job opportunities. After graduating college with my bachelor's degree I plan on continuing to earn my masters
According to Dubrin (2015), developing a career naturally requires some constitute of goal setting. Currently, I am in a Federal government position, working as a medical assistant. I have worked for the government for 16 years and don’t want to lose the time that I have put in, but in my current position, there is no promotion potential. Rather than stay in a position where there is no upward movement, I decided to go back to school. I have two Associates degrees one in General Office/Secretarial, and the other in Medical Assisting and neither one of them, I felt, were going to do me any good. I watched U. S. A. Jobs, and noticed that human resources was a career path that had promotion potential. This is when I made the decision to go back to school, once again, to get a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. I have always been interested in human resources but never took that career path initially.

I read this quote a few years back, "You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine. " It got me thinking about what my true passion was. Since then, I changed career goals and successfully have provided personalized care for others going on close to 10 years now.
When I was nine, I wrote an essay on what I would do in the future and said I would take any risk and use every opportunity. And now when seven years have already passed I still think the same except one thing, now I know what I want to be successful in. My career aspiration is to become an economical and financial expert. Since I was a little kid, I have always had intrinsic feelings about science and what adults were doing in it. I used to visit my grandfathers’ physics laboratory. It was the most amazing for a five year old to see with instruments that made me admire how sophisticated and intelligent my grandfather must be. He was my inspiration to study science well and get more knowledge. I’m always looking for new things that might expand
As a child, I was always told that I could become whatever I wanted to be. I dreamt of becoming an astronaut, orbiting around Earth or an airplane pilot, flying to different parts of the world. There were may choices I had in mind but they all seem to have a risk factor to them. I wanted to do something that involved little chances of risk and also be able to live comfortably. That is when I decided to become an orthodontist. The field of orthodontics has many challenges, but it is the occupation I want to pursue as a career.
Finding a career is a long process for some people, but it comes naturally to others. Everyone ponders about what they want to be when you’re in kindergarten, when your imagination is running wild and every possibility is an actuality. As I have matured, I realized what career I choose is something that I love and will enjoy doing for the rest of my life which for me is to be a physical therapist.
My academic goal is to obtain my Associate Degree in Computer Technology. For the past year, I have been able to focus more on my education. At this point, I have roughly 3 to 4 semesters remaining before reaching my academic goal. With my determination, hard work and the support of my husband, children and close friends, I have been given the encouragement to push forward. These people are like my own personal cheer squad, giving me the strength and courage to keep, going when times have gotten tough.
Unlike most early influences of family during childhood development, I was influenced by experience. I had brief opportunities to help bring comfort to a wounded dog and helped my mother when she was ill. Originally, I had inspirations of being a veterinarian, which developed into my care of people as well as animals particularly, dogs and cats. However, my family knew I was a caring individual who had a desire to heal the sick or wounded. I have always been interested in the human body and wanted to watch surgery being performed. My goal was to become a surgical nurse.
For as long as I can remember, it has been a goal of mine to support my family and see that their every need is met. The first forty-six years of my life has been the need to help and support my family. The next forty-six years I plan to create a better life for myself and my family, by achieving my one regret of obtaining my college degree. I have spent many long nights with my family trying to decide if that is even possible. After all the conversations with family members, co-workers and close friends I made a decision that will cement my future by returning to college. Now the question is what will I do? The current position I hold at work helped me come to that conclusion. I am currently a Sales and Marketing Consultant for Bibb Distributing Company, where I have been employed for sixteen years. I have been approached by Human Resources about a Senior Sales Managers position. After the conversation with HR, I knew what I would have to achieve my degree in and that would require a degree in the business field. Since, I enjoy my job in marketing that decision was easy and I decided on a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. The decision was made on the degree path that I wanted, but I still needed to decide which college I would attend? After several months of research, I narrowed my choices to Kennesaw State, Middle Georgia State and Georgia Military College. I chose GMC to obtain my bachelor’s degree, by
When I was in elementary, I remember being asked: "what do you want to be when you grow up?" I remember saying" I want to be a singer or a professional dancer and dance with celebrities." When I was in middle school I realized I wanted to be in the Medical Field and become a pediatrician. Once I started high school, I joined Dinuba High school Medical Academy through this program I got so much information and opportunities' to learn more about what I wanted to be. Even though I was in this program, and I was meeting a lot of professionals' with different careers I remember still not really being sure of what I wanted to be. Finally, in my junior year, I made a decision that changed my career choice, I decided to volunteer at Reedley Hospital this made me realize I wanted to become a Midwife, But what's a Midwife you say? well, this essay will explain and give answers to your questions.
Nine years ago when I first joined faculty of engineering at Alexandria University, I would have never imagined that I would apply for a Management PhD program one day. My dream was to become an electrical engineer but another thing was perfectly destined and planned for me. It has all started during my last year in the college. I was majoring electrical engineering and I took a project management course. This course has changed all my goals and objectives. I have become really impressed by how it could be so important to simulate and optimize process, and how that can save much money, time and resources. Unconsciously my career objectives have taken a twist during studying that subject. Quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling and optimization of different business processes have become my major interests.
What is your career goal? What steps have you taken (or will take) to reach your goal?
The career I chose was Computer Engineer. Computer Engineers work with the hardware and software aspects of computer design and development. They use science and mathematics to develop new kinds of hardware and software and also solve technical problems. Computer engineers usually work as part of a team rather than by themselves. Computer hardware engineers usually design, develop, test and supervise the manufacture of computer hardware- such as chips or device controllers. Software engineers usually research, design, and test operating system software that helps run your computer.
What happens when people get sick or injured badly? They would go to the hospital where they are greeted by compassionate and well-trained nurses. Nursing is an excellent medical career for those who are hardworking, compassionate, and willing to devote many hours into helping others. However, it is demanding. Nonetheless, I know that I have chosen the right path based on my personality and passion. The reasons why this career is a proper choice are presented as such: my results of the Myer-Briggs test, hemispheric dominance, receptive learning style, and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. Also covered are previously considered careers, past job experiences, and other activities related to nursing. The results of the Myer-Biggs tests conclude that I am INFJ personality type. Percentages include: 44% Introverted, 12% Intuitive, 16% Feeling, and 34% Judging. Being introverted means that I get energized by being alone and get drained from being around people. I would have to adjust being around people and communicating for an averaged twelve hours, but I don’t feel discomfort around people. Intuitive types “read between the lines and are abstract thinkers (Storm, 2015),” according to Susan on Psychology Junkie. Although it could be difficult to be always aware of my surroundings I will have an easier time creating different ways to solve a problem. My feeling trait allows me to connect with people on an emotional level, and it allows to me to go with my gut
