Education is about growing one’s self and paving the path for one’s journey. Thus, every step of education is important. During my time at USF, I hope to not only learn in a classroom but also outside of the classroom. Learning, however, is not a one way process to learn is to teach, and to teach is to learn. Thus, I aim to share my experiences. I have been active in theatre and dedicated to video production. For others in an LLC, I hope to share my knowledge about these topics and my passion for learning.

Hinds Community College has undoubtedly enabled me to grow as both a student and a leader during my time enrolled. My passion has always lie in the film and media industry, which made Hind’s film program the perfect choice for me. Before entering this program my skills were unrefined, but now I have been given the knowledge to pursue a career in the film industry with the confidence in my ability to complete any necessary job. Since joining this program, I have become the Media Associate at First Ridgeland Baptist church in charge of all video projects, the sole video contractor for Harmonic Audio and Concert Production which is a multi-state concert production company, the lead contractor for a major theater

Some people would have hated growing up in a household where the mantra “a place for everything and everything in its place” reigned supreme. However, I loved it because it helped me to develop my strongest talent- the talent of organization. I have used this skill throughout my high school experience, particularly through my extracurricular activities. For the past few years, I have enjoyed serving as the Executive Producer for my high school’s broadcasting program. Every week I was in charge of overseeing our broadcasts which included monitoring the script writing and reviewing the rough cut of the broadcast. I have also created music videos and other holiday video specials for my school. This activity allowed me to pursue my creative passion for broadcasting while also cultivating my talent for coordination and administration.

Of all the companies in my area there are many that don’t seem to implement the marketing concept to its fullest potential. Among these companies are Chase Bank, Big Lots, Pulse Yoga and Fitness Studio, and Tecknowlogic. On the other hand are the companies that use the marketing concept to the fullest extent. These companies include Huntington Bank, Meijer’s, The YMCA, and eGreen Computers, Inc. When looking at Huntington Bank everything they market and everything they set out to do is to satisfy their customers’ needs. Their marketing is everywhere from pens at the store, radio ads, television ads, billboards, etc. They make their banking and marketing out to be all about the customer and coordinate it between corporate, branches, employees, and take it as far as coordinating between bank accounts. Huntington is good at implementing the 4 C’s of customer value, cost, convenience, and communication. When looking at the marketing for Chase bank there is little marketing and it isn’t always geared to the customer. They lack in promoting their banking to customers and this is essential to maintain those customers. Chase is unable to show how valuable their company is in their marketing and should take measures to coordinate their efforts accordingly.
