Causes and solutions for Cyberbullying
Most teenagers own some sort of technological device, such as a cell phone or a computer, and they are exposed to the different social media environments which can impact their lives in different way. I would like to talk about what some of the causes of cyberbullying are as well as discussing some of the solutions that could be taken to prevent it.
Cyberbullying is defined as willful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices (Center). This is the perfect way to describe bullying because it is simple, concise and it has the most important elements (Center). These elements are willful: the behavior has to be intentional, not accidental; Repeated: Bullying shows a pattern of behavior, not just once; Harm: The target must perceive that harm was inflicted; lasty computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices (Center). This is what differences cyber bullying from normal bullying. Cyberbullying can take many forms, such as sending mean messages or threats to an individual 's cellphone, spreading rumors online or through texts, posting threatening messages on social media, stealing an individual 's account information to break into their account and send damaging messages, taking unflattering pictures of a person and spreading them through the internet, sexting or sending sexually suggestive pictures or texts about a person, and so many other ways (Cyber).
