Cell phones have had a huge positive impact on our lives and society as a whole.
Phones have dictated our relationships with the world around us. They have isolated us from communication
In 2011 smartphones were only consumed by 35% of the United States population. But have raised to 64% since then. The original inventor of the device was Antonio Meucci. He constructed the device to communicate with his ill wife. 145 years ago, the device made its first appearance to the public. Now phones are in the hands of billions. Phones have come a long way, and have benefited us in numerous ways, but at the same time has lead to some controversies
Have you ever wondered what would the world resemble in the event that we didn 't have any cell phones? Why is it that we get out of our comfort zone when we do not have access to our phones? Nowadays, cell phones have such a noteworthy effect on our day to day lives, and we owe it to the advancement of technology. In this research paper, we will take a closer look at this phenomenon by examining the evolution of cell phone devices, and it’s effects on society.
Tuesday, Jan. 5 when students returned back to school from Christmas break they were informed over the morning announcements that cell phones were no longer allowed during the instructional day. The question roaming the halls is: should students be completely banned from using their phones while at school? The answer is no.
If your are allowed a cell phone in school and you get caught doing something you shouldn't, you could get in trouble. If cell phones weren't allowed in school there wouldn't be problems over the phone. If you have a phone in class it is a distraction from your learning. If your were a teacher would you want your students to have phones. Students would be on their phone while they should be doing homework. As students we go to school for seven hours. In those seven hours there is no reason they need to be on there phone. School is for learning, not looking at a phone.

Cellphones are singled out and labeled as a distraction. Sometimes things happen such as, a phone might go off in class. Many states lifted the ban on cellphones in the classrooms after the 9/11attack. (“Students and Cell Phones: Controversy in the Classroom.” Stepbystep. Accessed 18 May 2017). Some school systems still refuse to lift the ban. Most schools do not supply working laptops and there are outdated books. There is a lack of internet resources at school. (Granata, Kassondra. "Students Lack Internet Resources in Schools, Surveys Finds." Education World. EducationWorld Contributor, Feb. & March 2014. Web. 7 May 2017). The school boards have meetings about how to better schools but always miss out an important topic, which are cell phones.
There have been many limitations in human contact because of technology having positive or negative effects on people's lives. Mainly, it has been said that technology has had a more positive effect in people's live, despite the limitations of human contact. For example, most people use smart phones for social media, blogs, and for looking up information on famous people. Primarily, I agree that technology has had a positive effect on people because doctors use technology in hospitals and students use computers in school. For starters, in hospitals doctors use technology to keep patients alive when the doctor or nurse isn't present. Also, without technology doctors wouldn't be able to do: CAT, CT, and x-ray scans on people. Lastly,
Cell phone use is extremely popular in our society, and there are multiple reasons as to why it’s great FOR our society! For starters, cell phone use gets rid of the burden of interacting with other people face to face! I mean who actually wants to see a person while they are taking to them? NO ONE! Cell phones get rid of that burden. Another reason cells phones are great for society is that cell phones stop people from interacting with strangers! If they are in a room with a bunch of people they don’t know, they can just go on their phone and they don't ever have to talk to the people around them! They don't have to communicate with anyone. This way they are keeping away from strangers just like they were told when they were little, Don’t
Technology has made a big difference in our society such as communication, work, education, and entertainment in good and bad ways. Some people say that technology has made life better with the internet, cell phones and other devices. While others say technology has been making life worse because people are becoming lazy and replace their lives with technology every day. Technology surrounds almost everyone in modern society and it affects our lives in many ways.
It is easier for someone who grew up in a previous generation to notice the real effects of cell phones on society. Almost all kids today have grown up around this technology and many are using it at younger ages. Cell phones appear to have replaced the need for everyday items such as alarm clocks, calendars, and watches. They also have taken place of our memory in several instances. Many people, including myself, no longer find it necessary to memorize phone numbers since they can quickly be obtained by scrolling through our cell phone, which is sure to be with us. Important upcoming dates can be programmed into our phones, complete with a reminder that will ensure we don’t miss an event. The thought here seems to be the more information you can access from the same source, the simpler life becomes.
Imagine our world without cell phones. What do you think today's generation would do? The answer to that is that they would be lost, their whole life is surrounded by technology. Technology advanced in the most helpful way to help create the world how it is today. Without cellphones it would be hard on today’s generation because they rely on technology so much. It is where they keep their private information, reminds to remind them of everyday tasks, and etc. Without cell phones there would be no instant communication amongst people from different countries, instant communication with emergency services, and no search engines to assist you.
